First of all, this is Quiltinnana's alter ego! I somehow got shunted off HGTV and can't get back on to post until I find that little piece of paper I wrote my ID/password on! So I'm the new and improved Quiltinana2, at least for the short term.

While reading about the COF fun and shenannigans going on in Branson and the future plans for an Ohio members' meeting, I started wishing that we could do something here in Michigan this Fall or Winter. I started surfing and found a place called Creative Passions in Chesanning that caters specifically to quilting and scrapbooking retreats and is easily accessible to most of the state.

So I'm putting it out there - is there anyone interested in getting together? I just want to say at the outset that I have never been to a retreat EVER and have no idea of what all is involved. I'm not the person to organise this but I am definitely interested and available to help whoever wants to take the reins.

Any interest? Don't we deserve some fun too?
Joan

That looks about an hour and a half from me. I have never been to Chesaning and know nothing about it.

I'm writing from Branson and let me tell all of you weren't able to come. We are having a great time. The meal at Andy Williams restaurant was delicious. It is an awesome experience meeting all of the people we chat with regularly. So much fun. Hope you can arrange something for the midwest again. Pat

Thats about a 4 hour drive from me...but as long as I'm not driving in ice and a snowstorm I'm up for it.Is there anything else to see and do in the area in the way of quilt shops????

ETA: I just googled the town and it seems to have a Limo service but not much else came up....maybe I'll have to re-think that 4 hour drive in fall or winter...

There is a list of quilt shops on her web site. I saw one listed in Saginaw so you will be close to Frankenmuth. There is a quilt shop in downtown and Bronner's Christmas shop is on the edge of town. So it looks like there is lots to do near by.

Sorry I haven't been able to get on a computer for a few days. The object of me starting this topic was to get the conversation going again about a future meeting. Chesaning was just a "jumping off Point" so to speak. Frankenmuth is a great place to visit and I will be going there Wednesday to meet my SIL. Lots of things to do there. Anyway, if there's any interest in getting together anywhere, maybe next Spring or sooner, let's talk!
