Last year you shared instructions for a "Triangle Tree". I saved the HGTV post as a PDF file, but was wandering if you still have instructions to share. You both had similar end results with different shaped pieces.

I created two word documents of your instructions, do you mind if I post them to my blog? Of course I would give both of you credit.

I saw those last year and made some too. I can't find the directions on my computer. I'll look upstairs and see if I printed anything...

No I don't mind if you post the ornament on your blog. I will look and see if I have the directions, I have photos of what I did but I don't see any text. But if you need me to do a step by step for you I can just let me know.

I looked for printed directions yesterday, but I don't have any. Sorry. I do remember that they are not that difficult.

Good luck!

I tried putting a word type document on here with the directions but it wouldn't let me do that so guess I will just have to put tons of pictures on here for you.
First I have a template it measures 6 1/4 across from point to point.

Then I take two fabrics right sides together and cut around the template, won't show a phot of them cut out. The next thing I do is stitch 1/4 inch seam around the fabric leaving a small place so I will be able to turn the fabric right sides out.

I should have marked the fabric with pins but I didn't. Starting at the flat seam at the top I would put a pin in the center. Then skip one of the staraight edges and go to the next one and put a pin in the center of the next straight area and then skip and put pin in straight area. These will be where you will bring your fabrics together to make the points. Also you can take a small stitch about where the pin is to hold the bottom of the folds in place if you want to.

You will work your way around the fabric folding on the straight area to find the center to make the next point. In this photo I did stick a pin in the last straight area that will be where you would put the final points.

Here it is with all the points made. When I was asked about this it was from a friend just wanting to know how to do them she wasn't going to hang them on a tree just use as an embellishement on a package, but you could put ribbon or a cording on the back or in one of the folds to make it hang on a tree.

Oops got one of my folds a little big on that last one but you get the idea. Then you can just sew on any embellishment you would like in the center and you are done. Hope this helps you all to make some.

When you say the template should measure 6 1/4" across, point to point, do you mean each side should measure 6 1/4" giving you a block that measures 12 1/2"? Or from left to right side, with the points at the top and bottom? Giving you a block that is about 6 1/4 x 7 1/4"
