I was given a red and white snowball quilt that is machine pieced but all hand quilted. I was curious if anyone else has one and do you know how old this might be I will try to take a picture of it and post it...

Thanks, Michelle

Oh Michelle, I would love to see it. Smile No, I don't have one like it. You're very lucky. Red and white quilts are beautiful, and I love the snowball pattern.

You've reminded me that I have some lovely red and white sampler blocks from CBQ's swap.

Here is a link to the Red and White Quilts show that inspired the swap.

Ok so here is the whole story I hope I don't bore you. I actually haven't sent the story to my brother in law yet, I am still trying to get the time to take a photo that does it justice.

Last night we had a 50th Birthday Party for my brother in law who was a senior in high school the year I got married.

Anyway his wife asked us to write a story about a memory for my brother in law and here is my story.....

In the 80's my inlaws attended many estate sales and at one of the sales they aquired a red and white snowball quilt that is just beautiful and had quilted. Now I don't have to tell you that I have coveted that quilt since day one.

Ok so my brother in law graduated from high school and moved onto a college nearby. So one day my husband and I went over to the bachelor pad for a visit. There being used as a cover for an old ratty couch was that red and white quilt, right next to the kegerater if I am not mistaken. They almost had to call 911 for me right then and there.

I called my mother in law that very same day (sorry bro) and I told her to go get that quilt before I had a heart attack. So she did and if you would like to see it for yourself it is folded over my stairway so eveyone can enjoy its beauty....especially at Christmas time.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
