Muggo, just an oldie but goodie. lol

KC, when the snow is so high that the snowblower starts to tunnel, DH will make one path and then I whack the top off the next section. It keeps the blower from getting caved in on.

Starry, I don't like it when there is a bunch of snow on the roof and then it rains. The snow acts like a sponge and is when roofs cave in from the weight. Ice jams are no fun either ~ on the roof or in the rivers.

Well- now we're due to get sleet and rain to top off the snow tomorrow. Guess I better get outside and shovel the path to the woodpile and deck. Wet icy snowpack is no fun. Sun is out today and the world is beautiful. If I didn't have bum knee replacements I'd love to be out cross country skiing on the lake. Can't stand the loud careless snowmobilers at all hours. Before the knees were replaced I'd go for walks in the middle of the night to enjoy the magical beauty and quiet of new snowfalls. Guess I'm a bit of a hermit.

i live in an apartment complex and the snowbanks are pretty high because there is not much room to move it around. i went out yesterday in the blinding blowing snow and worked a bit on my car but didn't make much progress becuz my face, hands, and thighs were frozen and itchy. i went out 7-9 this morning and just kept saying to myself: it is one shovel-full at a time. i could see people watching out their windows but no one came to my aid. i thought to myself, i don't need their help, i can do this, woman power! went out again when i saw the gal next to me move her car. i shoveled and shoveled and shoveled and got my car out after about an hour. it is pretty but the task is daunting to shovel it away. i am very sore today but i will make it; sure i burned a lot of calories. and tomorrow will bring rain, sleet and ice! i love massachusetts...in the spring-time Frown

Oh Mandy that is terrible,no one helped you.

KC...5 hours of blowing what I'll bet was "cement snow" after all the blowing around. That is the worse stuff.... It took me 2 1/2 hours of blowing and then I was worthless for the rest of the evening. It is hard work.
We are suppose to get the rain, ice, sleet and snow again tonight & Monday...but I'm sure we will have a early Spring

You guys take care....
