I have been talking with Anne Sutton, owner of Bunny Hill Designs discussing bringing one of her fantastic Snowmen patterns to the forum in the form of a Sew Along.

Merry Merry Snowmen - Size 62 x 66 inches

Is there any interest in doing this quilt as a Sew Along here on the forum?? If you are interested please reply that you are and I will send you a pm with the pertinent information on getting the pattern from me.

The gist of the sew along would be we would all have a time frame to complete each block. You would be uploading a photo of your completed block on a pre-selected day. I will also start a Flickr photo album for our blocks and move them over there.

Everyone who finishes their blocks by the schedule will be put in to a drawing to win a prize each month. First name drawn will win a squishie.

You can not win the prize more than once in a 3 month period. We still expect you to work on your blocks for the next 2 current months though.

At the end when all blocks are finished, everyone will then have a time frame to get their blocks in to quilt top form. A winner will be drawn from all who post their photo by the specified time.

After that everyone will have a time frame to get their quilt finished and bound. Everyone who completes this will be put in a drawing for a much nicer prize and the name drawn will win.

Here is the schedule I have set up in order for us to have our quilts finished and ready to use for Christmas 2013.

March 1 - March 26 --- Photos of first block are due to post on March 26th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

March 26 - April 20 --- Photos of second block are due to post on April 20th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

April 20 - May 15 --- Photos of third block are due to post on May 15th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

May 15 - June 8 --- Photos of fourth block are due to post on June 8th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

June 8 - July 2 --- Photos of fifth block are due to post on July 2nd by 7 a.m. Eastern time

July 2 - July 26 --- Photos of sixth block are due to post on July 26th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

July 26 - August 20 --- Photos of seventh block are due to post on August 20th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

August 20 - September 14 --- Photos of eighth block are due to post on September 14th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

September 14 - October 8 --- Photos of ninth and final block are due to post on October 8th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

October 8 - November 5 --- Photos of completed quilt tops are to be posted on November 5th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

November 5 - December 7 --- Photos of finished quilts with binding are to be posted on December 7th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

Then --- ENJOY your brand new Christmas quilt!

Is there any interest in this Sew-Along?? Please reply below if you are and I will send you a pm to let you know how to get your patterns.

Very cute quilt!!! What size is it? Would we just receive the pattern and supply our own fabric? I'm thinking about this//////

I would be interested in this project. Size would be important - not interested in a wall hanging unless it would be easy to make into a large quilt.

Amiko, this appears to be a lap size quilt but could easily be made into a larger quilt by increasing the size of the strips and squares in between the blocks, I'll betcha. Then increasing the size or number of borders around it. Easy for me to say. lollll

Q, I'm interested in this simply because it is cute, first off. And I'm still trying to find my way since losing Gary. I need some kind of new structure in my life and perhaps something like this would work.

For me, the price of the pattern is kind of high, even though there is a great deal of work in the design. Would there be a discount if we were to do it as a group?

I saw on the Internet images that most of these quilts are done in red, is that a requirement? Following along with Meme quilt's question. Or can we choose another color, perhaps even make it scrappy?

I bought that pattern with material last summer at a quilt show in Michigan. Haven't started on it but looked at the material the other day. Does that count for anything?

Hi Quiltaholic,
I saw your post and an interestedbut, I have never done anything with your group. Can newcommers play too? I do have a few questions that I don't see answered anywhere. How much will the pattern be and can we use any type of applique we wish. I have had no desire to quilt lately, but this looks like so much fun, I think it is just what I need. Thanks, Debbie

hmmmm.. one of my replies is gone... I answered Paus' questions earlier this evening... Now where did that go...

Everyone has full liberties of color choices and fabrics that they want to use.. and if you want to add borders to make it larger, that is your choice...

The pertinent information will be in the pm I send to you once you show an interest... but I cannot sit at the pc all evening so be patient as I come back and forth to see if I need to send more pms. Thanks so much.

Q, I sent you a pm. You can count me in. I don't know how well I'll keep up, but I'll try.

I take it we will get all 9 patterns at once instead of you sending them out monthly? Maybe I can work a little ahead when I have some free time.
