Often when I can't find a pattern I want I head to the coloring pages on the Internet. Which is what I just did for an owl pattern. There are loads of cute owls you could make.

There's a pattern for a simple applique owl taken from Quiltmaker magazine this summer. Don't know if this is anything like what you're looking for, but should be an easy quick way to add an owl to a plain potholder.

One of the "scrap squad" ladies(Bonnie Stapleton) made this version of Quiltmaker's OLD GLORY quilt.
So Cute!!!

LOL paus...yeah I thought it was a cute idea for the mugrug, and if insulbright was used instead of regular batting I'm pretty sure ones thumb and fingers could slip inside the wings to pinch together very similar to the heart shaped potholder below...exuse the other items, these were gifts for "tisme" in the all I want for Christmas swap Holly hosted one year..."Mrs Clause"

Well, it's a darn good idea, and fun, no matter which way it gets used.

Here's a pattern for an owl key chain. It's a cute owl and you can always make the pattern as large as you want it.
