WONDERING ... IS THERE AN INTEREST IN A PIN CUSHION SWAP??

Swaps can be so much fun, and the pin cushion swap is no exception!! The last one we had in 2010 had a lot of creativity come out in it!

Here's some thoughts ... tell me what you think! ~

I'm thinking medium to large size pincushions (no bottle caps)... I will swap like size for like size. About the size of one of those store-bought tomatoes would be about the smallest size.

There will be a limit of 10 pin cushions sent in for you to swap Smile ~ swapping like-size for like-size, and number for number... 1 will get you 1, and 5 will get you 5, etc.

You can embellishment them, get creative, follow a pattern (or not), have lots of fun! NO STORE-BOUGHTS ~ ESPECIALLY TOMATOES ... Roll Eyes YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO SEW... YOU CAN CROCHET, OR KNIT, OR WHATEVER CREATIVE ROAD YOU LIKE TO TAKE Big Grin

You can stuff them with emery shavings, crushed walnut shells, poly fill, wool or fine sand

Swapping will not happen until next year, and we will mail using delivery confirmation for tracking.

There are TONS of patterns and lots of inspiration on the internet, and even pattern companies have gotten on the band-wagon. Or maybe you’re inspired all on your own creativity! We love pics to share! Cool

[b] SEW TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE POLL ... AND PUT YOUR COMMENTS IN A POST ON THIS THREAD.
We'll then make the decision to swap or not to swap ... THAT is the question Big Grin

♥♥ I'll leave this poll up for a couple of weeks to see if there is an interest ... Nothing will be started until after the holidays ! ♥♥

Question:
Would you be interested in a pin cushion swap for 2013?

Choices:
Yes
No
Thinking about it

Question:
If you are interested, when would you like to swap?

Choices:
February
March
April
Other ~ please leave comment

I was thinking about hosting one for 2013 since it had been a while but since you beat me out of the gate I will join yours. Smile

leaves me open for something else to host. lol

I hope we can liven back up the swaps in 2013. A lot of people have been working on UFO's for a good long while so a lot of those swap blocks should be made in to quilts by now. Hope everyone is itching to swap again!~ Smile

Who else would like to give an opinion ?

And PLEASE NOTE ... I cannot guarantee any swapping of this for that ... sorry Frown I don't think it would be fair to swap before receiving, so if you would like to do that, please make those arrangements outside the swap... just between you and them... I hope you understand Smile

And Ely ... I hope you join us! Big Grin

Okay, I'm in. Last time, I made ice cream cones, but I don't have a clue yet as to what I'll make. I love these swaps. I have pretty pincushions all around my apartment!

Oh, Q, those hearts are very pretty, but I'm not sure I understand why they are posted in a pincushion swap. Am I just experiencing a senior moment?

I think Q meant to add them to my red work swap. I have sent her a pm.

On another note, I have decided on my pincushion design for this swap. I will get started this week so they are done in plenty of time.

I sure am glad I didn't miss out on this swap. Last May I made the chicken pincushions for one of my small groups. Sadly I can't display mine because my cat thinks it's her toy and steals it. My last cat thought ALL pincushions were her toys and she'd steal them and pull the pins out with her teeth.

I love all the pincushions I've seen. I'd love to have a set of shelves just for them. I've started mine and am having so much fun. I'm copying one that my grandmother made years ago. Makes me very nostalgic. If we make two different sets could we get a bigger variety???

Very cute Evelyn!

SavedSinnr called me today and asked that I relay to y'all that her computer modem died. A new one is being shipped, but she probably won't make it back on line until after Chr!stmas. I'm sure she will answer all your questions then. Wave

I am so very very tempted - I'm not good at doing things "artistic" or in small dimensions. I did participate in a pin cushion swap a few years ago and loved all I got back even though mine were fairly simple. I like the idea of a shelf to display them...maybe a good project for DF this winter...he can make a display case with a glass front so they don't end up so dusty...I'm loving that part of it Smile
