I don't know how I got old enough to be a great grandmother but come April I will be. So I made a quilt and diaper bag. I've used this fabric before and the young ones seem to like it!

That is so pretty. Can I ask where you got the pattern for the diaper bag? I finished up some burp cloths today and was trying to think of something else to make besides a quilt.

What a nice set! Your quilt is just so sweet. I like the way the black sets off your main fabric - and the way you alternated the stripe fabric blocks. Nice work!

Is this that puffy/ biscuit style of quilt or is it just the lighting that makes it look so fluffy-licious?

Very nice. Love the puff quilt. I agree the black really does set the other colors off.

Congrats.

I never wonder how I got to be old enough to be a GGM; I wonder how the kids got old enough to make me one!

Jeepdarla said exactly what I was going to say! Both the quilt and bag are wonderful.

jeepdarla, yes it is a "puffy" quilt. I started making them for family and friends about 20 years ago.

bunnybcb, the pattern was a mccalls, but I would not recommend it. This is the second one, I did most of it over "my" way. I would suggest a big tote pattern, use fusible fleece in both the outer and inner pieces for stability.

Sandy why would you not recommend it? Is it the instructions, size or design?

bunny, yes, yes, and yes! It had pockets all around the outside with a flap that requires 2 zippers. (well I did that but could see no reason for the flap?? it just covered the front pockets, called for another zipper in the top to close, well this made it difficult to get into the bag.) Bag seems too tall. And lastly I find sewing patterns much harder to understand than quilt type patterns. Infact I just measured the pattern peices I was going to use in the second try and cut them "quilt style".

Thanks Sandy for the info. I've been sewing with patterns for years and will admit some of them are hard for me to understand. I did look this pattern up online and it does look like a tall box. Think I'll forego this one.
