Talked to daughter about an hour ago. They live across the bay from Mobile where a tornado had hit. They were still under a tornado watch and hail was predicted. Son-in-law works in Mobile and drove over to check his place of business because the alarms were going off, but all was well, guess the wind had set off the alarms. Thousands are without power.

That kind of weather makes our bizzard warning here in Southern Illinois sound not so bad. We stocked up on groceries so we wont go hungry. And we have lots of quilts to keep us warm if we lose power.

We've got snow...the worst thing with be the first layer of rain we got before the snow that will freeze overnight and make a sheen of black ice under that snow. No work for me all week...3 days for the holiday and my last 2 vacation days of the year.
It will most likely thaw tomorrow, but I really don't need to make a run to town until Friday to get the rest of the food need for my Christmas dinner on Saturday.
