Jenny of Elefantz (Aussie) is hosting a stitch-a-long...of Betsy's Closet. Check it out!

http://betsysclosetstitchalong...g-betsys-closet.html

Colleen (Alexemmarose) and I are both going to work on this quilt for dear grand-babies. It will be a beautiful heirloom quilt...hope some more of y'all are enticed to join in the fun!

You don't have to use the fabric in the pattern...just grab your selection from your stash, and match the embroidery threads to that!

I wish I had more time because I would love to stitch along. But, I don't see it in the near future. I will be watching though.

I thought it might take some time...but yesterday, I spend two hours tracing all of the embroidery blocks. And last night while watching the Olympics, I had more than half of the first one stitched.

I'll post a photo when it gets done...maybe tonight!

Since the embroidery is only about six inches long, it is going much faster than I had thought. So, I'm sure it will be done well in advance of Christmas!

Would love to have more stitch friends stitching along!

Just so you know, this stitcher will be working at a snail's pace on this project, not the speed of light like someone I know!

Just saying...adorable little quilt...makes me remember playing with my paper dolls...work at your own pace but do join us!

It is just so lovely. But I just can't do this now. I am in so many BOM's I don't have time to do anything else. And in the summer I like to (mostly) work outside in my garden. So .... maybe next time.

This is so cute, I just ordered the kit! I told my friend about it too. She's always getting me into projects, lately it's been redwork so I thought I should share with her.

Darling little quilt, but alas, I have no one to give it to and no time to to do it.

I'll follow along your stitching progress.

I understand...but you are missing a real treat. Just got the first block done..and loving this even more!

BTW...the stitch-a-long is self paced. And we will keep it going as long as folks are stitching. But, betcha when you get started...you can't stop!

Just checked, it left Spokane today!! I ordered the kit because I like kits and I don't have scraps in those soft pastel colors. Not something I use much.

Skawkl, I tried to sign up on the blog this morning. I guess my yahoo account hasn't been used in awhile so they are reauthorizing it. I'll try again tomorrow.

Yahoo has just been weird lately! You'll enjoy this pattern...it is easy, mostly stem stitch or back stitch...but is just so cute!

That is so cute. Wish I has a grand daughter to make it for. Keep up the picture of your project. I did make a sunbonnet Sue for my grand niece out of the 30's fabric. It was so much fun to do.

Kathy, what did you use to trace the designs onto the fabric? What a cute heirloom quilt this will be. Who will you give (gift) it to?

Finally I got something posted on the blog!! First time ever. Now to get busy doing the "must do" stuff around here so I can get to stitching. Thanks for your help Kathy.

Devonne, I use the Frixion pens by Pilot, available at quilt shops. They don't make a dark mark, come off with heat (ironing). Yes, there was discussion about them coming back in the cold (freezer). Well, I never keep my quilts in the freezer and my house doesn't get that cold so I'm not worried about that.
