So, yesterday I found out that my newest soon-to-be grandchild will be a boy. See the picture attached - he's waving hi ya'll!!

Anyway, my DIL wants to do the nursery in sailboats. Got any quilt patterns, quilts or whatevers in sailboats. Because I have the summer to be ready. Would happily take any links, ideas or patterns you could suggest.

katie...you must take a look at the new fabrics at Connecting Threads called Smooth Sailing.They have a cute sailboat pattern and the fabric needed to make it show online also.

I also have a pattern like TcMay posted and one with a single sail to the right. They are in .pdf format that I can't post here. Let me know if you would like them.

You are going to be surrounded with more male hormones. Glad all is happy with the man to be, guess would be just as happy had it been a lady to be. No pattern, looks like you have several good suggested sites.

There is a really nice pattern in "Cottage-Style Quilts" by Mary Hickey. It is called "Regatta". The finished quilt size is 49" by 49". Block size is 7.5" by 7.5". I'm planning on making this one soon. I have already found some batik in my stash that will work for the water. PM me if you want to.

Thank you!! Funny, I got my Connecting Threads catalog yesterday. I think I like the boat with either one or two sails, but the fabric is awesome and I think I'm going to order some. If I don't use it in the front, it will make a beautiful backing or maybe bumper pads. Certainly timely. I couldn't believe it when I got the mail yesterday.

Libby, as for the male hormones - when my boys (3 of them) were young even the dog was a boy. I never stood a chance.

Sara - I went online to my library and they had that book, so I reserved it. I really like that boat quilt (at least what I could see in a pic online) and will check it out when it comes in. Thanks.

Try coloring books...I made one about 3-4 years ago and and remember where my pic is.
