I just thought this was funny so I will share it. I was cutting strips of fabric for a string quilt and my son walked by (as he has for years...) Anyway he said WOW how does that sharp cutter go through fabric and not do anything to the mat!?!?! He said he was going to invent some protective body suit with the cutting mat material.
Sign me up when he gets that suit ready — especially the gloves!

Funny...I hoped you explained to him that it was a self healing mat,and not indestructable...lol...

Kind of like if the black box can survive a plane crash why don't they make the plane out of the same material
My 22 year old son does chain maille would you like some gloves. He loves the "LARP" Live Action Roll Play...he gets made fun of all the time but he has a blast and the kids are good kids. You know they play Knights of the round table and stuff like that" Last year I made some cosutmes for the girls and it was an insane amount of work but they were pretty darn cool. Just wondering if anyone else had children or grandchildren who LARP
They have "chainmail" gloves like that -- or at least a glove with embedded metal mesh. I've seen them sold for cutting meat and cleaning fish. I tried to order some one time from King Arthur Flour Co. but it was too late -- they had discontinued them.

But the ones I saw & tried to buy weren't nearly that expensive. This message has been edited. Last edited by: StarrySky,
My son, DIL, friends and myself did Ren Faires for years. We were actors and not of the King or Queen's courts. Costumes were a bit easier but I sure have a lot of cotton fabric from them. lolllll
