A few of my favorites are:
Sticher's Crossing 6122 Mineral Point Rd, Madison WI
Mill House 100 Baker St, Waunakee, WI

JJ Stitches, 221 E Main St, Sun Prairie, WI

Does this mean your coming to the Quilt Expo in Madison? A few of us from this board will be there on Thursday and meeting up for the first time.

This one is in Madison:

It is a nice shop, but not outstanding. They have yarn in addition to fabric.

This is a larger store with more variety. It is near Madison. There are a significant number of samples and lots of variety in styles of fabrics.

This is a wonderful store with great samples; however it does not have art type quilts or modern looking fabric. The specialty here is reproduction fabrics through the 30's. It is located in Sun Prairie--not too far from Madison. If you don't like reproduction type quilts this would not be the store for you!

I could suggest more shops if you want to say how far you are willing to travel or what towns you will be traveling through. Are you looking for mostly bright and modern or vintage/country? We have great shops in Wisconsin.

I recommend Mill House quilts. They have a great selection of fabric and lots of samples. Quilters Crossing is a smaller store and I did not find the clerks helpful at all. I've never been to JJ Stitches but would love to go next time I am visiting my son.

I haven't been in a long time, but if you can get out of Madison itself, Patches and Petals in Belleview is neat. I don't know about samples, etc., but the shop is in a lovely 19th century building.

I also like Quintessential Quilts in Reedsburg, and Mill House in Waunakee.

I'll try and post a link for Patches & Petals - a very, very nice shop just south of here. When are you going to be here...I'd love to connect. Depending on when you come, I can try and arrange to have the day off and will volunteer to drive you to the shops.....send me a PM if you are interested.

oh, yes, check this out: www.patchesandpetals.com

Royal Boomer, that is so sweet. I'd really like to visit, sometime. My kids get there on a regular basis and think it is a terrific town.
