I got Evelyn`s and Mcpatches squares in the mail today! And I went to the LQS and got mine. I got the cutest little fishes swimming around. I also got my fabric for the misc squares when we get to them. Still need to find my food fabric.

Can you please explain "misc" squares? Items like guitars and airplanes?
I've been wanting to do jars of items that make me happy like rainbows, kittens, M&Ms.

Evelyn, I am not sure what all we will do for misc. I picked up needles and pins fabric.
I think maybe it would be anything that makes you smile, that you could put in a jar.
I saw nuts and bolts fabrics today, tape measures, all kinds of things like that.
BUT, I like the idea of misc. being something that makes you smile!! What does everyone else want for misc?

Duh! Didn't think about actual stuff you really put in jars. Looking around my house I have lots of junk (treasures) in jars. Thanks.

For me the misc would be anything other than food or critters you'd collect in jars- marbles, pins, paperclips, seashells, spools, tape measures, nuts and bolts, ribbons, tape measures, matchbox cars, pens and pencils, maybe spoons? Anyone have more ideas?

OK, came up with a few more. Flower/plant seeds, band aids, buttons, other desk supplies, rotary cutters, recipes, ornaments? There are so many fabrics! The scale certainly doesn't have to be perfect.

So the theme is bugs, etc? What abt cute little cats with red hats? If that doesn't work, then I will need to shop. Shopping would probly be after Easter.

Motqltr, we are doing bugs, critters, underwater things, like fish or turtles, something in that line this time. But your little cats would be perfect for the misc. swap later on.
No hurry, you have till the end of the month. Just a few are getting theirs in early.

Can't wait to see what everyone has sent and really like the samples of the jab quilts shown.

Bug fabric cut. I haven't seen any instructions, but I presume we should include a prepaid return envelop - so I will do that.

Hope to mail tomorrow.

Tammy, oops, sorry I didn't think of sending an envelope...only postage. This is my first swap but I should have figured.

Its fine with me if you just relabel and tape up the envelope I mailed blocks to you in. I believe it one that I reused anyway.

Darla, that is fine, I reuse envelopes when I can, so was just going to reuse one. It is my fault anyway for not including that info in the original posting for sign ups. lol

I've seen several versions of shine Tammy, all aren't clear, they seem to like peach shine around my neck of the woods in Kentucky...and I've heard rumors my great granddad had a still Eek lol...I do remember seeing it's remmants where we used to go berry picking up the creek...rumor has it, he also planted the strawberries, raspberries and blackberries to flavor his goods...

Just bumping this back up.

Last week at the Cincinnati Quilt Festival I kept an eye out for bug theme FQ's in case I want to make more jars.
I didn't see very many so I am sure happy I joined this swap.

I saw lots of fruit and veggie fabrics and a sample jar quilt made from those. So cute!

Let's see, a April's BOM, a funky chicken, a few Row Robins (yes I said FEW).

Looking forward to seeing the fun in this package!

Ilovemy4kids, no problem, I will wait. I am getting with Edna for a day next week anyway. So no major rush. Monday will be fine. Youngest son is taking his drivers test on Thursday and that is my only day off until next week, so we are gonna swap out then.
