CBQ, how about something on EQ7 for a class. I can bring a laptop on the plane much easier than a sewing machine. So no sewing machine from me. Sorry. And I am interest in taking an EQ class not teaching it. LOL
I could do a paper piecing class. Mini or normal??? I plan to bring a machine with a free motion foot...she's a bit temeramental at times but I have my ways of making her behave. *********************************** “May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. I am driving so I can bring a machine plus a spare both machines have free motion feet and the feed dogs drop. “I have found that all the ugly things are made by those who strive to make something beautiful, and that all beautiful things are made by those whose strive to make things useful.” Oscar Wilde http://picasaweb.google.com/GAquilter

Charming~ I play in EQ all the time. Thanks ladies for your machine answers! I am going to try to arrange them so the FM machines are together and the non-FM are grouped together so two classes can be going at the same time. Gonesewin~ that would be wonderful! Let's chat by PM.
As I'm flying in I will not be bringing a machine. When my DH talked about comming we were going to drive I was going to bring a machine but he backed out and I will not bring one on the plane. Handie Ann

CBQ, Thanks for that offer. We'll have to see what develops time wise.
I'll be bringing a machine, but the feed dogs do not drop. In order to see the rainbow, first you must endure the rain.
I'll be bringing a machine that drops its dogs and has a QF.
I will be bringing a machine that drops and has a quilting foot. Carolyn http://bransoncofretreat.shutterfly.com/ Our lives are like quilts - bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.
I am driving in will bring two machines. Both are capable of drpped feed dogs, but I only have one hopping foot. Also I could do a class on cq if you want. Tami
I will have 2 machines. One drops the feed dogs, the other covers them. Both have FM foot.

I like that idea of the EQ7 class or help. I have it but it baffles me. I'll be bringing only my little Janome. I have a FM foot for it. Can't remember right now if the feed dogs drop or not, but I think they do. www.floridafarmgirlsworld.blogspot.com Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

Hi ladies~ The only problem I see with doing an EQ class is that I don't have mine on a laptop, and I'm not sure how I could display it big enough for everyone to see. If you have it on your laptop and bring it along, I could set aside a time and give you a few basic tips to quilt designing and some of the features... ? I hadn't planned on taking any classes, so I could fit it in somewhere.

Wonder if anybody has a projector you could hook up to a computer and just show it on a wall? Sure would be helpful. www.floridafarmgirlsworld.blogspot.com Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.
I would really love a paper piecing class or a tatting class. I have done a little of both but would like to know how you are really suppose to do it. In order to see the rainbow, first you must endure the rain.

I would love to see Brazilian Embroidery.
I'd love to learn about hand quilting or embroidery, very poor skill set in these areas at this time.
I will probably bring my basic machine - depends on space in car, and also if I take public transport over to Lori's to start our roadtrip. I am happy to share it for classes, it does have a free motion foot and drop feed dogs. I'd like to learn more tatting, Talia started to show me and then I forgot how Also maybe something on curved piecing would be quite useful. Jane_Kiwi
Curved piecing sounds good. Happy Stitching...Lois
I'll probably be bringing my machine. I do have a FM foot & feed dogs that drop. Will there be a FMQ class? 'Cuz, even though "technically" my machine will do it, I still have trouble with it!
I have no clue about my machine I'll be bringing..I bought it when I was home last, and think it has a walking foot, but can't remember if the feed dogs drop,I'll have to ask my sis to have a look...and i don't mind sharing...it's a little light weight singer, and it sewed so good! CBQ, I've gotta touch base with you soon, I need your advice " Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.. "
If I counted right, we have 11 machines with FM feet and capabilities and 4 regular machines.... we will need lots more to support our classes. Please keep letting me know!
Since I'll be driving, I can bring an extra machine or two if it is needed. I don't do FM quilting so off hand I couldn't tell you if the feed dogs drop on them. I don't think they do and I don't have a FM foot. In order to see the rainbow, first you must endure the rain.

Crazy - Did you forget about my non-FMQ machine? Since I'm driving, I can also bring my regular machine that is capable of FMQ and has a FMQ foot. That make one each for me!
Whoops! I missed that! Sorry.
I haven't used the free motion on my Designer SE, but I know it does it. I'd bring my instruction book so you would know how to make the machine purr and behave. I also have a very basic machine that I'm able to bring. Sue has a big trunk and I know there will be room. We'll just leave our change of clothing at home.

I might bring a featherweight. It depends if I want to drive 10 hours on my birthday or not. If I get the featherweight purring it might be for sale. NoTimeQuilter http://longarmofstitches.blogspot.com/ If I stitch fast enough does it count as aerobic exercise?
**At this time, I'll likely NOT bring a machine. Re: classes; wish list: silk ribbon embroidery, yeah; and, if possible beading around a cabachon (wish list, as have always wanted to learn this skill). Any flower making with ribbon or fabric. Use of crayons! Thanks. I'm sure there will be lots of options for hand work. ***
***I forgot to mention: how to make a tote/handbag out of a placemat. I keep buying placemats at a thrift store, and have yet to actually make a bag. Did see them at a senior craft show, and they were very attractive with special closures e.g. buttons, vintage jewelry. Looks like fun and quick too. ***

I will bring one machine unless someone wants to try serger?? I have W/F and can drop feed dogs,I'd love to learn to FM quilt!!!! I don't even know about travel yet but will get there. BLESSED WITH THE BEST !!!!
I'll be driving, & can bring at least 2 machines for free-motion. I have 3 & will bring them if they're all working in September...or maybe I'll own even more. You know how things can happen. eta: I have walking foot for 2 machines, too. Also have another non-free motion machine that I might be able to bring. One class I'd love to take sometime would be hand-piecing...I watch Jenny Beyers Simply Quilts episodes over and over, but never really feel like I'm getting the hang of it...of course my trouble may be that I'm trying to stitch in a moving vehicle...ya think? ~karen
I'll chime in and say that I'd love to take classes in tatting, English Paper Piecing, and choosing colors for your quilt. Ellen "Wishing you sunshine and blessings"
Thanks ladies! I think we have plenty of machines for FMQ now, but can use more for other classes.
You have me down for 2 regular machines, but I can bring 3 if you need them. In order to see the rainbow, first you must endure the rain.

Just now really read and comprehended this - had a lot going on. I am bringing a machine capable of FMQ. Sherry Does this hat make my butt look big? www.keepyouinstitches.blogspot.com http://s193.photobucket.com/al...9/keepyouinstitches/ www.friendsofthedaingerfieldpu...library.blogspot.com

You know, the conference center ought to have a projector that can be used. Would certainly make sense to check before bringing one. I'm planning to take a class or two, but I also plan to spend time just sewing. This message has been edited. Also, TVs can be set up to be the moniter for a computer. So many large screen tvs everywhere these days. ~karen

I might need to use one of my machines so just count on me for one to lend. Both may be available at times.
I will be bringing my jem gold and maybe my brother, not sure on the feet or feed dogs drop. Never did drop them so will have to check. Not sure if other machine or not. We will be driving from manistee MI so will have time to decide. Did mapquest and 14 hours not including all the stops

I will be bringing my Viking Topaz and Viking #1- I do not have the free motion foot. I would be interested in how to do different borders or round row robins. Let me know if you want a PM. Thanks Sue
