It is getting closer! Big Grin Today is the last day to order your T-shirt. Please see Will Quilt For Chocolate's post. Next up we need to know about machines for our classes~ Smile

Please let crazy'boutquilts know, either on this thread or in a PM, if you are bringing a machine and if you can drop the feed dogs and have a free motion quilting foot.

Also we are looking for teachers!! Could you teach a paper-piecing class? Do you have anything you could share that doesn't require a sewing machine? Please PM crazy'boutquilts! Smile

CBQ, how about something on EQ7 for a class. I can bring a laptop on the plane much easier than a sewing machine. So no sewing machine from me. Sorry. And I am interest in taking an EQ class not teaching it. LOL

Charming~ I play in EQ all the time. Smile I don't know if I could teach a class, but I could certainly sit with you and help you some. I am designing our board BOM in EQ7. Wink

Thanks ladies for your machine answers! I am going to try to arrange them so the FM machines are together and the non-FM are grouped together so two classes can be going at the same time. Wink

Gonesewin~ that would be wonderful! Let's chat by PM. Smile

I like that idea of the EQ7 class or help. I have it but it baffles me.

I'll be bringing only my little Janome. I have a FM foot for it. Can't remember right now if the feed dogs drop or not, but I think they do.

Hi ladies~
The only problem I see with doing an EQ class is that I don't have mine on a laptop, and I'm not sure how I could display it big enough for everyone to see. If you have it on your laptop and bring it along, I could set aside a time and give you a few basic tips to quilt designing and some of the features... ? I hadn't planned on taking any classes, so I could fit it in somewhere. Wink

Wonder if anybody has a projector you could hook up to a computer and just show it on a wall? Sure would be helpful.

I will probably bring my basic machine - depends on space in car, and also if I take public transport over to Lori's to start our roadtrip. I am happy to share it for classes, it does have a free motion foot and drop feed dogs.

I'd like to learn more tatting, Talia started to show me and then I forgot how Frown
Also maybe something on curved piecing would be quite useful.

Will there be a FMQ class? 'Cuz, even though "technically" my machine will do it, I still have trouble with it!

I haven't used the free motion on my Designer SE, but I know it does it. I'd bring my instruction book so you would know how to make the machine purr and behave. I also have a very basic machine that I'm able to bring. Sue has a big trunk and I know there will be room.
We'll just leave our change of clothing at home. Big Grin

***I forgot to mention: how to make a tote/handbag out of a placemat. I keep buying placemats at a thrift store, and have yet to actually make a bag. Did see them at a senior craft show, and they were very attractive with special closures e.g. buttons, vintage jewelry. Looks like fun and quick too. ***

I'll be driving, & can bring at least 2 machines for free-motion. I have 3 & will bring them if they're all working in September...or maybe I'll own even more. You know how things can happen. Roll Eyes
eta: I have walking foot for 2 machines, too. Also have another non-free motion machine that I might be able to bring.

One class I'd love to take sometime would be hand-piecing...I watch Jenny Beyers Simply Quilts episodes over and over, but never really feel like I'm getting the hang of it...of course my trouble may be that I'm trying to stitch in a moving vehicle...ya think? Wink

I can also bring an extra machine or two if needed. A singer 7469Q confidence quilter with a free motion foot and a Viking Emerald whose feed dogs drop but I don't have the foot for FMQ.

I can also bring my little featherweight for me!!!!

PROJECTOR - I have and can bring and infocus machine. It will connect to a laptop and display the information on the wall. It's my husbands but he said we can use it. Smile
