March BOM is up!!!!!
And there appears to be a problem downloading it. Uh, oh. Could be my computer and whatever has been going on but it took five tries before I could get it to download. This message has been edited. Last edited by: paus4quilts,
Patty J: I'm gonna have to reacquaint myself with the method I found before I do anything with it. But it look as if it would be interesting to try.
Thanks for posting.
Paus- I told Patty that you started the post for the fish. She will come by later to do her download. She is cleaning a closet with her hubby. LOL Sue
Paus, could you tell me what you did to get it to download? I got a new laptop a year ago and never could download the chickens, and can't download the fish. So frustrating. I can download the daily free patterns that Marion2 puts up every day, so can't figure this out.
Paus thanks for reminding us of the fish.
Was shopping LQS with Sue and she said you have an idea for a different method you are going to try. Can't wait to see what you are coming up with.
Oh the possibilities for making this fish special. Sue gave me some bright scraps this morning and I'll have to see what else I have to go with them to make this fish.
Yes, thank you. I had completely forgotten about this.
I have the fish printed out and will be working on it tomorrow. She is sewww cute.
I looked through those books I found the other day and they won't work with this project without a lot more work. So on to Plan E, as in Easy. lolllll
Fish #3 done. DH said he blends too much with the background - I say, he's got amazing camouflage!
I've been trying to do these as soon as I can. I know how I am and I would put it aside with good intentions, but. . . . This way, they are just done.
I think he is neat!!! Don't worry about his colors maybe blending with the background, once he's with the other fishies the colors will stand out on their own.
I love that he blends right in!! Or is it a 'she'???
I really like this fish - love the background!! And love that it's done!!!!
Katie, he is too cute for words. Even if he blends in, I love the color combination. Thanks for sharing. Sue
OK, got my fish done. I think her name is Esmerelda. DH thought there was too much red, but what does he know. I'm getting quicker with the machine applique stitch and it is easier each time.
Patty, love the use of olive green with the bright orange. The button for the eye is so cute. Good job. Sue
Neat, Patty. I love the button!!!! Gave me an idea for some buttons I have similar to that so I can go dig one or two of them out.
I did clothes repair all day today; it's been sitting and sitting and I now need the sewing table space.
On to the fishy tomorrow.
Cute fishies! Anxious to get to mine!
nice fish! love them both. I need to have some more time to work on mine. Maybe tonight!!
ttt- Looking for new fish in the ocean. Any new ones done??? Sue
Fishy is cut out and fused to my background...ready to stitch...
I hated my background fabric. I'm starting over tomorrow.
this poor fish caused my #1 sewing machine to go off kilter - started out ok than went bonkers, the little bubbles will have to be redone
With all the topstitching on these fish I've been using a lightweight fusible interfacing on the back to give it a little bit more material to sew on.
I'm liking your orange fish, Nice colors.
I am using a cut away stabalizer on the back
Would tear away work ok..too I missed all the ones before this looks like I will have to buy the pattern but I really like it...
Does it count that I decided what fabrics I'm going to use????
I like your fishy, EBQG. Unless you're having a real problem with your stitching on the circles, I'd leave it. They look cute and good. That orange is great with that background.
EBGQ- I love your orange fish and I would not change anything. It gives it character. Paus, it does count that you have your fabric and I will be waiting to see your new fish in the ocean. SueThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sister sue,
I love your orange fishy EB! I wouldn't change a thing either! I am loving that many of you are using "water" prints in the background...unifies the fishies. My March fishy is soon finished...post later today.
Does anyone else think we need to make some stitching for the mouth??
Cute fishy Marlene!! Love the orange. If you want to re-do them go for it. You know me - I would, but that's because I'm insane!
You know, Patty J, never thought about a mouth for the fishies. But it might be a good idea, adding more character. Heck, 'some' folk are even using eyelashes. lollll
I will be drawing the line at bright red lipstick, though!!!!!
My fishy wanted to come out and play!
YEAHHHHHH. 'Nother cool fishy in the ocean.
While we're at it, take a look at this bottom dwellers.
Well, aren't those just cute artsy fishies recycling old stuff!
Love them all. Haven't had a minute to work on mine. Hope to do something next week. Right now I'm heading outside in the sun. It's time to start on them gardens.
Love that striped background - looks very French to me. Ooooh-la-la!
Alex- what a great play on color. Your fish will look great in the ocean. Sue
Just had to swim by to see the excitement. Love all the different fishys.
Alex....your fish is darling. Now we have sewww longgg to wait for April. This is fun, glad I started these. Pat
They are all so fun! Katiemedarlin, thanks again for getting us all inspired!
found my background fabric for my aquarium. Need to get started on my fishies. I have been saving the patterns.
Love everyone's fishies so far.
May- will be watching for your fish to join in the ocean. Sue
TTT- I know that we have more fish in the ocean. Who has their March fish done for show and tell?? Sue
I's getting there. Working on the fins today.
These are so great!!!!
Paus- I will be watching and waiting for the new fish to appear in the ocean. Anybody else have their fish done?? Sue
