I have a friend that has a Husqvarna Diamond embroidery machine & I was wondering what type of thread does a machine like this use. She has invited me over to show me her new machine & the things that it can do & I thought about taking her some thread as a gift when I go but have never seen an embroidery machine in action nor do I know if they take special thread. I would like to know what y'all recommend that I take her. Thanks in advance & I sure hope I don't get "hooked" on an embroidery machine after seeing hers. Embroidery machines stitch very fast. Mine does up to 650 per minute. I buy the thread that says for embroidery machines as it is made to withstand high speed stitching. There is a special bobbin thread that is very thin. TerryOH

Sulky sells gift sets of multiple colors. Every LQS sells some type of thread, often for embroidery machines. Visit the website at http://new.husqvarnaviking.com/ and browse. You might find a dealer in your area and get her a small gift card. She most definitely will be spending quality time with her dealer. I embroider on everything, thanks to my Bernina Artista. Have fun. (Maybe you two could come up with a barter system so you could enjoy her machine too!)

Patty J and I use Sulky 40 100% rayon. Works well. Hope you enjoy your day with your friend. Sue

I use only Isacord on my Bernina - used another brand when I first bought it and it ate a hole right through the fabric. The person I bought it from suggested Isacord. Good luck!!

I like the Mettler Polyester thread for most jobs. Still use the Sulky since I have a lot of it. If doing something that will be washed a lot, go with the polyester. Rayon can not be bleached. Local dealer is starting to carry Iscord, so will be getting some of that too. I don't recommend Coats and Clark. You could also take a few packs of embroidery needles. Use a lot of them. Also use a lot of stablizers. Have fun. Strings Friends divide our sorrows and multiply our joys.

I use Robison-Anton with my Pfaff, now the same company that makes Husqvarnas. Madelyn

Thread is a strange thing. Everyone has there own personal preference. My HV did not like Sulky...had lots of problems with it. It like RA (Robinson-Anton) Maderia, Isacord. I now have a Bernina and it likes all of the above plus BFC. I personally love the BFC thread....Why because it is Cheaper than any other I have found, the sheen it creates is the best I have seen; (if that is the look you want) they have a great range of colors (360). The draw back might be you need to order it....you will not find it in stores. http://bfc-stash.com/ Enjoy your day with your friend you may have to have an embroidery machine after your visit. I have a Brother machine. The dealer recommended Robison Anton rayon thread. That is what I have used the most and like it. I have used a little of the Coats and Clarks and it works ok. In order to see the rainbow, first you must endure the rain.

I use FuFu. But Isacord is also nice. You just have to give some a try and see what it likes.

I use RA in my Janome 11000. It will take just about any thread except the Janome thread. The dealer recommended RA and I have had no problem. I also use thread from the long creek mills. It is nice thread. I don't use rayon because of the bleach ruins the thread. I use poly. It is basically trial and error. Test a spool of a couple kinds and see what it likes.
