I'd love to do this one too. You have my info from the fall swap. I do love these mugrugs.
I have five sitting on tables in my den. They're great decorations, make visitors curious, and keep my tables ring free. I'm making some for friends and it's as easy to make 5 as it is to make 4. The one sitting beside me used birthing so didn't need binding. She stitched close to the edge all around to close the opening shut.

question?? do u put fabric or something between the front and back of mugrug, in other words to u "sandwich" something in the middle of the front and back of mugrug??
I am in this one, I do every other one. lol
califgal, I put batting in my middle.
... yes, I use lightweight batting, cotton... poly is usually too puffy to feel something can be set on it safely without tipping
ty for your help. by the way i don't need any padding in my middle, my middle is patted enough. LMAO!!!
Please add me to this one. Thanks
LOL Patsy, mine too!!
The last 2 have been so much fun sign me up too please.

Count me in please...just found my Christmas/holiday fabrics almost done with this month..have been sick and no sewing in a week ....now if I can only find the box with all my bakeware!!!
Gee, I used Insul-brite in mine. Am I overdoing it?
califgal, are you signing up for this one?
can i let u know by monday? i'm gonna try and make one first, see if i can do it before i say yes.
....Patsy /// of course you can - 2 rectangles of fabric and one of batting - sew something cute on it ... and there you are ... and if you 'pillowcase' it it doesn't even need binding . a bit of quilting and voila` a mug rug someone will enjoy ... and if you think it might be a bit wonky - I LOVE wonky - because I USE these things... please say yes ...
ok ok u talked me into it i will join this swap. haven't been in a swap in ages. this one looks like fun.
I'm in again!
Count me in please.
my first mug rug, sorry pix is so small but i can't figure out how make it bigger so it will download here. i try first pix and too big so i got this one and now too small. so frustrating. anyway the binding is hard to do, didn't come out so good. this one is a practice run.
i posted on facebook HGTV group if u would like to see it up close. This message has been edited. Last edited by: califgal,
... hey you .. I posted on Facebook to you and I'll say it here, it;s really nice. quit picking on yourself. remember - we want to be able to use them ...
califgal, this tutorial finishes the mugrugs using the pillowcase method which is what i do. i am not into bindings.

Califgal: That's a nice mug rug.
Posting a photo on here can be a challenge at times. Here's a little help.
When you save your photo, save it as a .jpg file. That will help tremendously with the sizing for posting on the board.
If you have Microsoft, go to your program files and click on the 'Accessories' icon. Then click on 'Paint'.
When the window opens, go to 'File' on the top bar. Then click on 'Open'. Another window will open to your hard drive files. Go to the file where you put the photo you want to resize. Click on the photo. It will fill the Paint screen.
Go back up to the 'Image' command. Click on 'Stretch/Skew'. When that window open, go to the 'Horizaonal'box, type in 50. Do the same in the 'Vertical' box. Click 'OK'. You will have a smaller image in the Paint window. Go back to the 'Image' command and click again. Click again, on the 'Stretch/skew' command. When the window opens this time, type 35 in the 'horizontal and vertical' boxes.
If this is the size you want, go back to the 'File' command and click on it. Then click on 'Save', after you have made sure it is a .jpg file.
I understand there are several programs on the Internet that can do this faster, easier. And maybe someone will come along and tell you which program to use and how to use it. Meanwhile, this does work. Give it a try.
paus i tried and it's still too big. i could just scream AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ok I'm ready. Got one of each done. Just need to know where I'm sending it.
