I'd love to do this one too. You have my info from the fall swap. I do love these mugrugs.
I have five sitting on tables in my den. They're great decorations, make visitors curious, and keep my tables ring free. I'm making some for friends and it's as easy to make 5 as it is to make 4. The one sitting beside me used birthing so didn't need binding. She stitched close to the edge all around to close the opening shut.

... yes, I use lightweight batting, cotton... poly is usually too puffy to feel something can be set on it safely without tipping Smile

....Patsy /// of course you can - 2 rectangles of fabric and one of batting - sew something cute on it ... and there you are ... and if you 'pillowcase' it it doesn't even need binding . a bit of quilting and voila` a mug rug someone will enjoy ... and if you think it might be a bit wonky - I LOVE wonky - because I USE these things... please say yes ...

i posted on facebook HGTV group if u would like to see it up close.

Califgal: That's a nice mug rug.

Posting a photo on here can be a challenge at times. Here's a little help.

When you save your photo, save it as a .jpg file. That will help tremendously with the sizing for posting on the board.

If you have Microsoft, go to your program files and click on the 'Accessories' icon. Then click on 'Paint'.

When the window opens, go to 'File' on the top bar. Then click on 'Open'. Another window will open to your hard drive files. Go to the file where you put the photo you want to resize. Click on the photo. It will fill the Paint screen.

Go back up to the 'Image' command. Click on 'Stretch/Skew'. When that window open, go to the 'Horizaonal'box, type in 50. Do the same in the 'Vertical' box. Click 'OK'. You will have a smaller image in the Paint window. Go back to the 'Image' command and click again. Click again, on the 'Stretch/skew' command. When the window opens this time, type 35 in the 'horizontal and vertical' boxes.

If this is the size you want, go back to the 'File' command and click on it. Then click on 'Save', after you have made sure it is a .jpg file.

I understand there are several programs on the Internet that can do this faster, easier. And maybe someone will come along and tell you which program to use and how to use it. Meanwhile, this does work. Give it a try.
