The best FREE photo resizer I've found is
http://www.picresize.com/

1. you upload your photo
2. on 2nd page you tell it (at the bottom of the screen) the pixel size you want.
3. I resize mine to the exact amount hgtv wants 150.
4. download back to your pc and upload to hgtv
5. poof you're done.

There's no jumping through hoops or screens.

LOVE IT.

If anyone has/uses Photoshop on their computer, a picture resized there to 400 x 300 will work here, too. That's what I've been doing, and the pictures have posted OK.

YouTube has a lot of tutorials about resizing pictures with different versions of Photoshop. (It's not hard at all.)

Glad to be of help. I like it 1. it's FREE and 2. I don't have to dl any other software.

I hate it when photos are posted so small that even a magnifying glass doesn't help. I want to SEE.

150 kb is the maximum allowed for posting images using the "Add Attachment?" function. Larger photos can be added as avatars or by using the image code within a post.

CC that's because the photo was 150kb otherwise it wouldn't appear.

Bozie I don't use the image code only the Add Attachment. Do you feel my avatar is too large?

As I've said I want to see the photo not something that is so small you can't even see a single seam. Just My Opinion

I have alot of photo software for playing and resizing but ... Can some tell me (even when I use this one on-line) why I tell it 150KB and save it I go to properties for the photo and it is nearly twice that size?

I can't answer that as I've never had it happen. I'm resizing photos that are as much as 5meg and it works each time. I give the new photo a new name variation of the original photo.

Here's the little utility I use and its slick as can be.

http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/

Once the FREE utility is installed, you simply go to whatever picture you want to use, right click on it and you'll get a drop down menu with a choice of "resize pictures". There are three sizes, small - medium - large. I choose the small and it comes out fine for posting. It then saves the smaller copy and KEEPs the original picture. You then simply attach the smaller picture.

I take pictures using a very large file size, so on my pictures, this is how a "small" comes out.

I've used this for several years on both Windows 7 and earlier versions, and its has worked flawlessly.

I am beginning to think it is my camera. Kodak stopped supporting it because of going bankrupt. I can't download to the program anymore. I love the pics this camera takes.

NT Quilter, I still have my Kodak camera which is the first digital I got, back about 2003. The software still works fine with Windows 7. Once the software is loaded onto the computer, there shouldn't be any need for support from Kodak online. Do you still have the software CD that came with your camera? If so, you might need to reload it and see if that solves the problem. I still use my little camera, too, because its so much smaller than the DSLR Nikon. I can also remove the memory card and insert the card into the reader to download the pictures. Depending on the age of your computer, you may have a card reader on your computer, too. Take a look.

Good luck.

We have gotta a little of track with other favorite photo software.

I posted the info on picresize because it's
1. FREE
2. NO SOFTWARE TO DOWNLOAD
3. NO KEEPING SOFTWARE UPDATED
4. IT'S EASY EASY EASY

You do have to download the new resized photo back to your computer, flash drive or whereever you save your goodies. Give it a try.
