To battle depression because of my eye, I CUT, CUT, and CUT with my good eye and glasses. I can sew with my glasses also. These potholders only take 5 8 1/2" squares and a coordinating 4" square and is easy. It makes me feel SO good to be able to do something!

Look out STASH!!! Who knows how many potholders I will end up with? I have the idea to make several alike and stitch them together to make a tablerunner.

Thanks to all for your pray ers and support!!!

Two together. They could even be placed differently.

I have seen this idea - potholder - done as a holiday food table runner!! When made like your idea says, you now have a table toppper that is already heat proof for the hot foods you will be putting on it!! I think you should not only do this, but make it as a gifts and especially one for your own table!!! Big Grin

looks good!!!

Very pretty Marion! I'm happy you're able to make those without too many problems! It sure would make a lovely tablerunner.

Rho:

That is exactly what this pattern is like only the pieces are folded into triangles instead of squares and you fold back the edges for the "cathedral" curves and add the middle piece before sewing them down. The pattern a friend gave me is written instructions and I'll see if I can get it down to a size to post here.

AND, thanks for reminding me of the coasters--maybe I'll make some of those too.

Here is the criss cross coasters pattern site: http://allsorts.typepad.com/al...crisscross_coas.html

...marion a few years back several of us made those coasters like featured in that blog .. to make them like your pot holders//table runners
you do exactly the same thing as the larger size, but use the 5" charms ... sure would make a lovelygift...
sorry I missed or forgot about something with your eye - i have been pre-occupied with things these past few months and am Kind of behind the 5 ball (I don't like the 8 ball - hit it and YOU LOSE!)
