I am Gonesewin and I will be starting a new thread for each month for everyone to post pictures (If at all possible) or tell about your stashbusting efforts. It does NOT have to be quilting! This can be any kind of Quilting & Needlework!
There are just 2 "rules" to join us: what you make make should be mostly from stash and it should be finished during the month you post it as finished - please don't post things you made otherwise - sew & tell would be a more appropriate thread to share that on. There are no signups, or swapping or... Just this thread. Everyone is welcome!
As an incentive -or as a reward- cksvett has graciously agreed to give a prize to someone who completes a stashbuster each month if her name is drawn. Let's all be sure to thank her

I have sew wanted to be the first to post for a month! Now can I not only be the first for a month, but the first for the entire year! Two seams this morning and I finished this quilt for donation to a homeless teen shelter! When I went with Cincinnati Quilt Outreach to deliver quilts to them in December, they said they never have enough for boys, so here one is -

My parents are here and I asked my mom to teach me to knit...with fabric. I've never knit before. I used stash for this practice piece. I guess it's place mat sized. My goal is to knit a rug someday. This takes a lot of fabric. I was surprised!

WTG McP. first of the Newyear, Nice way to get started. Jill, that looks like fun and I bet your mom was happy to show you something.
Congrats McP for being the first of the month/year. Like the quilt and thanks for the idea of what to do. We have the same problem here with no enough for older boys. So I bought sports fabric last month and couldn't decide how to use it. Perfect pattern.
I know it doesn't count in the stashbusting - but I used up 4 yards of fabric today in filling Birthday FQ requirements for the year.

That is really pretty HandieAnn!
Elainetoo - it may not count towards a prize as a "completed" item but it definitely counts in busting stash!

I think my mom said there were size 35. I've never knit before, so I don't have anything to compare it to!
Patiently waiting for a quilt book I ordered but have to stay focused. Saw these cute gingerbread men in a magazine I was just about to pass on to a friend. So I am early for next year and I've used up some stash. It was a larger quilt, but three blocks is enough. Oops. Just discovered I hadn't put the eyes on.This message has been edited. If you finish a top using stash then that counts as a finished item.

I wanted to post a photo of my Dec wins from Royalboomer I rec'd today. I sure was surprised at so much. I got several quilt mags, several FQs and pcs of fabric of cotton and flannel both, a wrist needle holder, 2 spools of thread, foundation papers, gridded mylar, pattern weights, 2 patterns, piping and a pack of buttons. What a haul. I'm thumbing thru the quilt mags tonite. Thank you Royalboomer. Thank you again Royalboomer.

Last week I made a quilt for my friend, who is going through Chemo Therpy. The entire quilt was made with my stash. I think it turned out and she loves it. SueThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sister sue,

Can anyone guess what this 24"x36" quilt sandwich is for? Its my not so pretty (read ugly) fabrics made into a quilt sandwich to test the tension before I quilt a quilt on my machine. After its all filled up, I'll bind it and let my doggies use it.

Finally have some things done. The 2 pillows in front are from 3-4 years ago stash. The 2 in back are from recently bought clearance fabric from wal-mart. I've had the pillow forms a long time. I think they were having a pillow fight in the closet because I heard a noise, opened up the closet doors and a couple of them fell out!!

These 2 pr@yer quilts are from stash. The flannel on the back of one is a recent purchase.
