Many of you have been swapping 5" squares and this past swapping session, the 3 1/2 x 6 1/2" bricks and 2 1/2" squares.

These and other sizes are perfect for most of the Quiltville quilt patterns.

I would ideally like to post this swap soon, so vote now!

Question:
Are any of you interested in a stashbuster swap(s) in the following sizes: (You can post a reply if you would be interested in more than just one type)

Choices:
2" squares
3 1/2 " squares
4" squares
"Diet" noodle (strip 2 1/2" x 18" with selvedges removed)
2" x 5" (for braids)

Hi Owie. Oh yes, I will have the 5" squares, but wanted to shake things up and get some new swappers to join in! Are you interested?

If it is truly stashbusters I am in for sure. I am totally hooked on charms. And I want to try the 2 1/2 inches.

Great! Why didn't you join the last 2 1/2" square swap I just mailed back? We had such a nice selection of fabrics.

Looks like I'm in the majority at this point Smile. I voted for diet noodles too. Lots of regular noodles (WOF) from prior swaps, but smaller length suits me fine too.

Do you have other 2 1/2" square swaps coming up? Don't remember seeing a post, but might have missed something.

Oh! Bonnie Hunter will be coming to my guild next March! KC, are you going to come and visit me then? I can get the guest bedroom ready for you Big Grin and have the Sugar Daddies and Big Hunks on hand Cool.

I find 2" hard to cut on my ruler. Seems like it has too much "stuff" on it tio see the line. What do you use 2" for? Bonnie Hunter uses them a lot, doesn't she?

I could make 1 1/2" hsts!!!!

Well, Missy, Bonnie will be here in Maine in May of 2013 for three days-one for our state guild's member meeting and for two days for workshops, BUT your offer is might tempting!

I see she uses them for her four-patches. You can also use them to make the corners of the snowball block.

The reason I came up with the "diet" (my term) noodle is that in past noodle swaps I found many of the noodles bowed at the ends. Hopefully by cutting them it will solve the problem. The only thing is that if you are cutting a direction fabric, I suggest that you cut the fabric in half and cut the strips by fussy cut. I don't know about you, but I am Type A and an wonky cut drives me crazy. In a quilt, they pop out like a sore thumb and spoil the over-all look. That's me and I wish I could overlook it. That is why I typically pass over any directional fabrics unless I do plan to spend more time in cutting. I know, I know, I'm a control freak! Smile

If you do bricks again I'd like to swap them. Also noodles - guess I'm on the other side of the fence right now. LOL

Well, KC, glad that Bonnie Hunter will be in Maine in May. Guess I won't be able to talk you into coming here Frown. Maybe you'll want to come here for a sneak preview Big Grin.

The diet noodles could also be cut from FQs, right?

I'm with you on the directional fabrics. Some things just don't lend themselves to strips or small squares. I don't even like polka dot fabrics (or other designs) that are lined up in rows. I like the random all-over patterns better.

Any of them would be fine, but I think I will be in diet mode after today. Have fat quarters that could go to the diet noodles.

I plan on jumping back in this year too. I'll keep an eye out for your swaps.

BTW KC-we love you just the way you are! I'm a little anal sometimes. well, maybe a lot-lol-you'd have to talk to my family bout that. Every one of my kids call me "turtle" caz I "snap". But then we laugh caz my youngest DD is called "little turtle" and if we fuss it's "turtle on turtle". What's so ironic-little turtle came up with this in the first place! When she was in HS-her and her group of friends mde up animal names for all the moms and themselves. She was "pig, piglet, piggy etc" Now, she's grown into a turtle!! But her friends still call her pig.

Are you going to be doing the 3.5" x 6.5" bricks again? I'm strongly leaning toward the Bricks & Stepping Stones pattern.

Not sure why I can't do the link like before. It worked until the board was upgraded Roll Eyes. At least I have some of the shortcuts memorized for the smileys Smile.

Would the fabrics need to be washed for these swaps? Inquiring minds would love to know.

This is what it looks like for the next swaps:

In stashbusters:

Bricks (3 1/2" x 6 1/2")

2 1/2" squares

"Diet" Noodles (2 1/2" x 18")

and I will throw in a nickel swap or two

The amount we can swap will be determined by the number of people who sign up for each swap. I'll try to post the sign-up this week.
