On the ornament table runner you made did you sandwich them then turn them, what I'm asking is how did you finish the edges? Question #2: Did you have to do each ornament separate and then stitch them together?

Everything...I will include a link to the directions. They explain...basically you sew the strips to a piece of flannel. They you sew the right sides together and turn rightsides out.

You sew each ornament individually. If you want to make a runner, you sew the ornaments together.

After making these, I have some extra hints. Let me know if you are interested in them as well.

Good luck with your project!

I typed up the information into Word. I'll try to transfer it here...

Hints & Measurements for Ornament Table Runner/Placemats

I use my walking foot.

Before I start, I iron the flannel so that there is a crease in the center. That helps me to start in the center.

When you sew the ornament caps to the tops, they will hang over about ¼” on each side.

After the ornament is turned and the edge is sewn, I stitch in the ditch along all the seam lines on the ornament stripes. I think it gives it a more finished look.

Measurements

Using the picture from the pattern, I call the bottom ornament #1. Mine varied from the picture a little.
Center cut – 4” wide
Then cut 2 each – 1.5” wide
2.5” wide
3.0” wide

The middle ornament is #2.
Both outer bands are cut 5.25” wide
Narrow strip – cut 4 strips, 1” wide
Little wider strip – cut 3 strips, 1.5” wide

The top ornament is #3.
Center is 3” wide
Top & Bottom are each 3.25” I did all three of these in the same fabric.

Remaining 3 stripes:
Cut 2 each - 1.50”
1.78”
1.50”
