Welcome, students Big Grin. Thanks for joining us.

Tonight we will be making Artist's Trading Cards. Don't let the name fool you, anyone can do this, you don't have to consider yourself an 'artist', lol.

THis is really so simple y'all might throw rocks at me, lol.

I'm going to start by walking you thru my hydrangea ATC.

SUPPLIES: I use absolutely ANYTHING I can glue, stitch or tie down so these suggestions are going to be VERY general. Please feel free to substitute, improvise or just plain ignore anything I suggest!

You will need some form of the following items:

top fabric

'Batting'

Back fabric (light colored so u can write on it)

ATCs are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 so I'm cutting my fabric about an inch bigger in case adding the decorations makes it shrink a little. I'll trim it exactly later.

Pretty fabric for the hydrangea yo-yo

Leaf : from a silk flower or fussy cut, or a long skinny yo-yo or some green paper, it's up to you

Sequins, beads, embroidery floss, whatever else little bits & pieces you might want to add.

I'm going to be watching this time, I don't have any artistic ability to transfer what is in my head to fabric or cloth. But I do have the supplies listed and could start if I get inspired. Pat

I had chocolate cake for dessert tonight. OH MY GOODNESS it was so rich and gooey. Sorry, we ate out so I have no leftovers.

Don't get a rope though...I have Dove milk chocolate and it is soooo creamy. BRB...I'm on the wagon tonight, but I need a glass of iced tea. Wink

OOPS, forgot we have peanut butter fudge, too. DH went grocery shopping, had a craving for fudge, but picked up the peanut butter kind by mistake.

The smallest Cross in the corner is the one you put in the room.

I hope all our daily ups and downs are with needle and thread.

Please! Don't mention ....rita anything! I don't need the extra calories.

???

Wait a minute. That does not compute. When it comes to anything...rita...calories don't matter!

Sigh...but I better stick with the unsweet iced tea...sigh...

I'm using free batting from Branson. You can use felt if you'd like. absolutely every step can be adapted to what you have on hand.

ART TIP: ya'll probably already know this but just in case:

Use both sides of your fabric and double your stash. sometimes the front is a little too bright and the back with a little muted pattern and color might be perfect.

I'll be using the back of both those fabrics.

I'm using a leaf from a silk flower but you can fussy cut or use a long skinny yo-yo, or use a paper flower. Pull it off the plastic stem, trim it as needed.

When I'm doing these mixed media projects I usually try to think of what's the backmost item & put it on first. In this case it's the leaf so I'll want to put the leaf first.

I've trimmed my silk leaf so it doesn't look so much like holly, lol

OH! I'm sorry! ATCs are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

My fabric is a little bigger, I'll trim it down after I add my goodies. That way if it 'shrinks' a little it won't hurt anything if I'm looking for an EXACT size.

Now we are making a yo-yo to use as the hydrangea.

I'm using a contrasting thread to make it easier to see.

Sew a running stitch all the way around the circle

Gently Pull the string so it pulls your yoyo tight. I'm going to use the puffy side up for texture
Put a knot on the back & let's put it to the side for a minute
