Sew & Tell is our weekly sharing thread. Tell us what you've finished, what you're working on- we'll cheer you on!
The Ides of March! I'm still making ruffled scarves and giving them away. I just sent 3 to my DSIL in Fla. And I did a couple rows on my baby afghan, and bought fabric for 2 baby quilts.
Well, today is the last day of spring break, and I still have lesson planning to do, but for the next week I want to: (1) finish hand quilting and put the binding on my "easter" quilt; (2) finally make a curtain out of the cutest library fabric I got for my birthday, and (3) clean up the bits of quilting stuff ALL over the house from working on stuff on and off this week!

I finished a little quilt for AAQI and am trying to decide on a design for the next one.
The finished one is a mate to the one I showed last week. They are very similar in design and made from the fabrics but with the positions of the dark and light fabrics transposed. This one also has partial stars in place of the "pyramids?" in the pieced inner border.

Bozie, I love this. I guess I love every one you do, but when they have blue in them I really LOVE it, as blue is my favorite color. You would think my whole house would be blue, but only the master bedroom has a little blue in it.
Lovely projects! I'm lolling a bit because it takes me 10 minutes some days to sew my 1st stitch in my quilt room.
I finished up another UFO yesterday (#19 for 2013)which is a Warm Wishes kids quilt. I'm thinking about keeping this one as I just love the cat novelty fabric. Surely there will be a cat loving child in the family someday!
Love the kitties. The 10 min is that funny papers on fabric? I make tons of the 10min runners. NO sewing this week .... taxes took up days of work (ugh).
Lovely quilts today ladies, as always. I just finished this simple baby quilt for a friend's grandson in Denmark. It's based on the children's song, "Ten Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed."

Hi ladies, here is a rag quilt I made from my Dad's flannel shirts. This is the 4th one I have made and have more to do. We lost him to cancer last September, I miss him greatly.

This was a row by row that my guild did last year. My row is on top, and I just love it. I have another one to show you from the other guild I belong too, but it is at quilters. Will post a pic of it when I get it all done. The projects are all beautiful ladies!

All the quilts are beautiful. Bozie, your minis just blow my mind!! You are so creative. Sue, your blocks really look tumbled now. Great job. That 10 min. tablerunner would never be 10min. if I was making it!!! Teddylady, your monkey quilt turned out nice. Iluv2quilt2..Nice quilts Time will ease your heart.
Sister sue, I love those tumbling blocks. And I KNOW the dark side is a flat piece sewn between lighter pieces...but my eyes keep insisting that the wall hanging is really 3 dimensional!!! Always reminds me of those mind-bending, eyeball bending pics which looked like a mass of lines until you squinched at them exactly right and all of a sudden, a 3 dimensional picture popped out at you. Very good work on this piece.
Sometimes I laugh so hard tears run down my leg! Lois
More pretties this week! I've mentioned it before, but this is probably my favorite thread of the week!
In the last two weeks, I quilted only 3 days for a total of 6 1/2 hours - sprained an ankle and had to keep the ankle elevated. The last 1 1/4 hours last night completed a second and third pass on my appliqued quilt.
While I am outline quilting both sides of the vine, I am not quilting the block motifs. I'll do that with a hoop after I get it out of the frame.
Turned the quilt another round and got in 1 hour of quilting tonight. I don't remember if there's 4 or 5 rows of blocks. LOL So it will be a surprise to see what is beyond row 4...row 5 or the border...
● ● ● This week I made up a few sachets and played with a bunch of fabric squares. Have also been working on my design(s) for the challenge. Can't decide which one to use, but now I have at least three more quilts I want to make.
I got so lonesome for my machine, that I did some free motion practice while my batting relaxes. Tomorrow I can finish sandwiching the t-shirt quilt.

Love looking at all the wonderful project - just have to mention - The Cats are so cute!
A good amount done this week. Working on the Merry Merry Snowmen blocks, 1 NICU quilt ready to tuck threads, a ladies quilt ready to finish the binding.
Got 2 finished. This one is from material received from the caring quilters group. The other I posted on the stashbusting thread. Both for crime victims. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Elainetoo,

Bluesnail, thanks for the compliment. I still find bias seams difficult to work with, but the outcome turned out. Sherry, beautiful quilting, can't wait to see the whole quilt. Elaine, nice job your quilt. SueThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sister sue,

I finished a doll dress and 7 flaxseed and lavender eye pillows. Started on making a dozen luggage tags so I'll be ready for my next meetup with women from my high school class. I took jewelry pouches for all when we met in January.

You are all so productive and do beautiful work. Hope some of it rubs off on me while reading and looking. I have been working on a circle of flying geese block and managed to get my geese flying into each other. Think the only solution is to make more pieces from the paper piecing pattern, their must have been two different patterns for the geese. This is a block from Craftsy.

Thought it might be handy to have a small pincushion sewn onto a mugrug. After finishing it I realize it now looks like a quilt with a pillow at the top. So funny!
Second sister, Welcome to the board. Come and visit often, ask questions and post pics. You will get lots of inspiration from all the projects which get shown on this post. Sue

Working on my scrappy Chevron quilt, all the blocks are sewed together now, just need to square them up,so i can sew them in rows. I am well pleased with this scrappy quilt. I only bought a few FQ's, the rest was from my stash and the orange fabrics were from the ladies here! Nice projects here, love when you share your pictures!
