Patchwork Xmas tree
Found this in one of my emails and had to give it a try.

Being me, and my moods lately, I remembered I have some patchwork fabrics in my stash. Well, the one I picked happened to have the squares on the diagonal so didn't have to worry about that. Did some diagonally stitching between the patchwork and I double stacked buttons for embellishments. Still have to pick up some cloth ribbon to add and it'll be done.

The backing fabric I chose looks like toys scattered amongst an Xmas tree. Now the tree is reversible. Did a little outline quilting around some of the toys and it looks good.

I'm making them for the DGSs bedrooms.

Hmmmmm buttons didn't show up so well but there are red and green buttons with white pearlized shirt buttons in the centers, sewn on with silver thread.

Oops, used some silver cording as the hanger at the top.

Thank you.

Yeppers, Patty, it is nice when you can get the fabric to do the work. That made this sooooo simple to do. Now if I can find a way to sew all the buttons on more easily. lolllll

I'll be glad when I get my camera and computer talking together again. Scanning just doesn't do the job well.

The tree is 18" so it will be a presence in their rooms. A good find, me thinks.

Mom made us a couple of cloth trees(pieced?) we love to use for bedroom decorating. I've barely started, so haven't seen them...yet.
Paus, I just love the way you think..."outside the box". Big Grin

That's a festive little tree and you did a great job. I'd rather hang that on my door instead of a wreath.

cute..

with all those buttons you could find some small ornaments and hang them on the buttons.. as long as the kids are not too young for smaller items..

Hugs, Waves, Smiles, & Prayers

God bless you all and may sunshine always be in your lives to brighten your days..

Thank you, San. Thought of that, tried it and because the fabric is so busy I lost the ornaments. What I did find in my craft supplies scrounging was a couple of Mardi Gras necklaces that made perfect garlands so added those.
