Jacky, that's a great idea using insulbrite...might have to try it! I think you'd need to make it just a bit bigger though.

My friend made 1 but didn't use selvages...just a rectangle of fabric...turned out nice but I realllly like the selvages and it's putting them to good use! Big Grin

Once your friends find out that you are collecting them, then they might start saving them for ya...at least my friends are saving them for me. At 1st they thought I was 'nuts' saving them...until they saw my water bottle cover....lol!! Wink

I like the idea of insulbrite, I would think just batting would help too. I was thinking I'd have to make it a little smaller because the bottles we buy are only 16 oz. But if I put something in it that would make up the difference in size. Good thinking!!!

Keep calm and carry on

I can't believe I missed another PJ Party! I came home from work Friday & DH wanted to talk "finances" most of the evening....UGH! So I completelty forgot about the party. I've read through all the instructions & they are so clear & easy to follow. I've been saving my selvages but have never used any of them. I've even had a selvage give-away a while back & sent out a few bags to some board members. I think I better keep mine now 'cause this is a great project. Wink

This does look so simple and sewlove did a great job with the pictures and directions. This technique can be applied to many different projects!

KS, The book was Hostile Witness by Rebecca Forster. A "who-done-it." It kept me guessing pretty much up to the end.

Lynne what a great tutorial. I am going to copy the directions as I think these look great. We went out for a fish dinner and I forgot about the class. I have a pile of those salvege edges, too

Thanks for such a great class.

Trish, can't wait to see a pic of yours! I want to make 1 w/ insulbrite, too!

KBlue, wow!! Looks GREAT!! They are FUN to make, aren't they? Big Grin Keep up the good work!

Nicki, really missed you being in this class! It was way too quiet! Wink

I think the reason there was only a few show up for this class is cause everyone knows that they can always check it out later....but ya miss out on the FUN of 'chatting' during the class. Life gets in the way sometimes, too!

Yes, using Insul-bright does keep your beverage cooler longer.

I made a bottle carrier about 3 years ago because I carry water with me all the time and used Insul-bright. Love it. It does help if you make the cover a tad bigger. My bottles just skinny in there. Wasn't thinking.

I also used elastic around the top not a pull cord. That's why I was interested in this class, to find out about the cord.

This was a great class. Well done.

Lynne, great class!! I really meant to buy one of these from you when we were in Branson. Now I'll just make one of my own. I have some selvedges saved, but I'm not sure how wide they are. I have two GKs that like to take water bottles to school and this would be perfect for them. Now to go back and write down the instructions. Thanks for the class. Sorry I couldn't make it Friday night.

One thing I did on my second was was to thread my cord thru before sewing the side seams. With the tool I use it was easier to do this with a flat piece, rather than a circle.
