My local quilt guild had a workshop on this and it REALLY does make it a lot easier to sew together hexagons. I've told my local quilt store that after I get moved I'll have them put together a 2 1/2" bundle in colors I want to go with the new house.

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

OK you enabler you. I ordered the "Apple Core" ruler -the 4 1/2 " one. After watching some of the videos I decided that that was what I really wanted. I had done half-hexis in the the One Block Wonder via 60 deg. triangles. Three together make a half -hexi. That was a LOT of triangles so now I can truthfully say, I'm done with that shape. On to the next. Thanks. Smile

I added both rulers to an order, too. Haven't used either, yet, but I have been cutting some small ones when cleaning up old stash.
I haven't viewed these videos, but will. Thanks for the links.
Fons and Porter did a "batik braid" that really caught my eye. Instructions for the quilt, by Debbie Kratovil is featured in the Fons and Porter Scrap Quilts 2011 EQ#5. They use a hexagon template, but the 1/2 hexagon seems like it'd be easier.

... I used that half hexi on the braid piecees I did. Worked really nice. Also great for making that hexi quilt laing out the rows so you have matching opposing pieces and sewing those strips into what looks like a set of hexigons. I have the hexi ruler from F&P and am just finishing a small project - will show when done.

I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.
