Thank you! When I picked out the darker fabric (at Joann's), no one liked it! I thought it looked Vintage Kitchen (?). Then, I got out the fabrics that my sister bought for me (across the country) and these two pieces went together as if they were part of a collection.... Smile Fa lala la la lalala!

Phooey, I need a toffee fix. Frown Now I'm really sorry I missed your party Angela. Razz It's amazing how well behaved your class was. You must be one he11uva teacher to command such respectful students. Maybe, it's a good thing I didn't show up. Wink

I think I was lucky Malou was there with the toffee...it probably helped to keep them in line. Well, that & the regular troublemakers didn't show up! Razz Wink

I got my 3 finished today. I cut the fabric on the center one to short so I inserted a center "spine" to create a new design opportunity. Wink I think they turned out really cute & thank you Angela for the P.J. Party. These are easy to make & sure do dress up a blah notebook.

It's nice seeing others try this!
See Angela, I told you you gave good instructions!!

quiltbea... really like the seed packet/garden theme!
jessica, love those two fabrics together! It turned out so pretty.
Nicki, love all three of yours! Very clever to make a spine and it worked good!

Jean, do I have your address? If you haven't moved in the last 5-6yrs. I probably do... do you need a toffee infusion??!!

This was a neat PJ Party class. I need to make a couple more of these journals for gifts.

I made a journal cover for my embrodry book. I put a pocket on the front and a belt to hold it together. I also put a flap over the pocket.

● ● ● Oh Malou, you are such a dear, that would be FABULOUS!!!! I finally found the recipe you enclosed, but now I have no time to make it. Frown It's been one thing after another around here.

If you are serious, my address is the same. Your toffee is to die for. Thank you!

Great Job Nicki! I'm loving the one Bluesnail made for me as a retreat gift. It's the only cats I'm not allergic to. Big Grin

I made one, and really like the method. Mine came out a tad small this time, but I'm still using it. I'll make another at some point. Thanks for a great class!

Handie Ann, I like your cover & putting a pocket in was very clever.

Elsie, your cover is pretty & colorful. I know what you mean about being small. For some unknown reason I cut the fabric on one of mine too short so I made a "spine" down the back to increase it. Luckly I discovered it before I made th whole thing.

These make great gifts!

I have to get "unburied in my quilting studio-it's a mess! Then I can make some.

Hey Malou-I sure could use a toffee fix too!! I saved mine from retreat and shared with DH when I got home. It was sooo FABULOUS!!! I would love the recipe too since I seem to have misplaced mine. I loved meeting you and your DH. It was certainly a treat!! Hope to see you again one of these days!!!

This one turned out really pretty... either the front or the back could be the 'front'... it's up to the person that gets it!

I cut out fabric to make MORE of these - with the kids during the holidays! DH and I take off tomorrow to travel to the Pacific Northwest... that is, if Draco doesn't ruin our plans.

**Merry Christmas, Everyone**

Better late than never. I had to use my seamripper a few times. I got the lining in upside down or inside out. But I'm thinking my grandaughter will like it. What's not to like with chocolate candy??? LOL

Jessica, those 2 covers are great looking. I like the wavy one & didn't know there was such a thing as a wavy ruler. I learn soooo much from y'all on this board. Your second one is very elegant looking. I like the black spine.

Patty, your granddaughter is going to love that cover....yum....everyone loves chocolate! Aren't rippers just THE BEST!! Wink

I line all of mine & just discovered that I can turn them inside out if I want & use the "lining" as the outside. It's a 2fer (two for one). Smile

Well, Storm Draco grounded all the flights... so, I'm stuck for a 3-day delay (that's how over-booked the flights were - no sense of priority for those that booked their flights months and months ago).

I'm finding my 'calm' through feeling blessed, the drive to the airport and back was intense... I spent the rest of yesterday cutting out as many doggie jackets as I could for my girlfriend's rescued pets - today I'll sew them up and hum the song, Love the One You're With!

Thank you for the comments on the notebook covers... I'm loving yours as well. Smile Each cover is inspiration!
Maybe I'll make a couple more on Saturday. I really like the idea of lining it and being able to flip the cover, Nicki! - so, you add a fabric to cover the batting and then proceed with directions?!

Wonderful, I didn't get a chance to get to the party, but I think you did a great job explaining it. I hope to get started on a couple of these this p.m.

Everybody posted such great pics, I've got lots of ideas bouncing around this old gray head. I can't wait to get started.

Yes Jessica, I add a liner fabric on my because with the first one I made without a liner the journal was hard to slid in because the ends kept getting caught on the batting.

Coming up for air... I've got fleece-furies all over me after cutting out a pile of Doggie Jackets! Smile

I just pulled some Fat Quarters that are good 'guy' fabrics to take with me on the trip - this should be a great sewing project with the kids, which includes my son... he likes stepping on the 'peddle'! Last year we left the sewing machine on the table for everyone to use and my son sewed (gifts) for his co-workers!

This is a close-up of that pretty combo... it did look like Black in the small picture! Smile
Dark Plum (yummy color!) Smile
