A quick reminder...Episode 2 tonight. NYC in happier times, humming away as it should be.

I finally got caught up with last weeks episode the other night. Poor Peach, she seems like a such a sweet person but that was one awful runway look.

I can't figure out how a group of "All Stars" decided to mix black and royal blue together... it was so obvious which collection was going to win!

No favorite yet for me. I didn't see the 1st few seasons so there are some unfamiliar faces, I was a fan of Uli in hers. Seems like some high drama will be brewing.

I don't have any favs or non-favs yet. I just like to watch them shop & sew....and then get critiqued by the judges (and us), who didn't shop or sew.

I probably would have sent another one home just because of his antics. I had missed the original viewing except for the last half hour and am watching it now. Antics even worse. there were several I liked for the winning one.

Loved Ulli's dress. I wish she had had her dance a bit to make it move. I'm stunned no one did Saturday Night Fever dancing! Disco dancing was pretty active...think some of those dresses would malfunction. Red Face

You're right-hadn't thought about being able to dance. I did like Uli's dress-definately could dance in that.

I've only seen the runway so far, so I guess I missed the dramatics. I also missed if this was supposed to be "authentic" 70's or "modern interpretation" of 70's. In any case, I saw hints of all sorts of decades on that runway.

DH was watching with me (I stole the clicker when I got home & turned off some movie he was watching, ha ha). When Josh's blue pants suit came out, DH said, "You had one like that in tan!" DH always liked me in that outfit & hasn't stopped talking about it for 40 years. Smile

My "DID" likes:

Josh's blue pants suit, for sentimental reasons Cool (Great color choice, even if he didn't use "my" tan.)

Kanye's "J-Lo" outfit (Good workmanship on those pants, and the color looked great on his model. I liked the top, too.)

Wendy's black & white & red outfit (I told DH there was "a lot going on there," but I liked her use of print & I thought the little bell bottoms on the skinny pants were cute. All in all, it made me think late 70's disco era, minus the chains.)

My "DID NOT" likes:

The rest!

I thought Casanova's was strange (wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen), and I don't remember hot pink like that from the 70's. (Barbie Pink makes me think of the 80's.)

Ivy's was 20's flapper meets 80's bridesmaid dress meets 70's hot pants meets Girl Scout uniform meets Bedazzler infomercial.

Emilio's was a big, flowing disappointment.

Suede forgot that gold lame` was see-through when the light's behind you.

Anthony Ryan's & Laura's...ugh.

Andrae's...double ugh! Purple netting on top of that??

And I did not like Uli's white dress! When it came down the runway, DH said he liked it, but I said it looked like an explosion at the trim factory. I really didn't like that ribbon ruffle at the sleeve cap. I'll have to go back & watch to see what she started with, though. If she actually manipulated the fabric in a clever way to make that finished effect, then kudos. If she just kept slapping on fringes & trims, then no.

So I did not agree with the judges about who should have won & who should have been booted. The other one left standing there should have gone. I would have liked to have seen Josh in Top 3, if not the winner. His pants suit was classic. I'd wear it again, if I could find what I did with my platform sandals. Smile

Judge Mizrahe (sp?) said he loved the hot pink, tight around the bottom...would be danceable...mmmm...I thought that would one of the major malfunctions with ANY disco move...especially the arm-up ending. ewwwwwww.
Was bummed that Wendy Pepper was booted. Hers was disco for sure! Very disco oriented. And the fact they disparaged the 13 year old's comment was Huh?? to me. They're the most forward! Oh yeah, I thought the other guy should have gone.

I don't remember Laura being this nasty before...ugh... Now I remember Suede was the one who talked about himself in the third person...though when he was upset, "Blue Suede" was very funny.

Can't even remember most of the outfits, and that was last? night?

I wore hot pink (with orange) in the early 70's...preppy pink in the early 80's (with grey).Wore chain belts 69-74. Platforms 73-78.

Starry...there's lots of platform shoes out there now to wear with your pantsuit! Skyscrapers!!! Real break-a-leggers!!!

Oh and I did like the chevron pants and the top...but didn't quite see how they "went" with the shoes...which didn't show! kanye has calmed down a LOT!!! I'm liking his stuff this time around.

Did Mondo say anything??? Was he on last night's or the one before....hmmmm some of the show must have been forgettable...

Dang! Disco WAS 40 years ago. My how time flies. Just waiting for the 80's to come back in...fashion has overdone the 70's...ugh...

Mondo was on last week. This week's guest judge was with that Nine West/Jones Group.

Sadly, my platform shoe days are only a distant memory now, as I can manage to trip & break something even while wearing bedroom slippers. Frown
