How about another peek?

I'm not sure I can make the deadline this time; it's just too close to retreat. I'll keep trying, but I need sleep!

• • • Oh no, say it isn't so Carol. You'll have a at least five days after the retreat to work on it. Mine's been on the design wall staring at me while I finish my COF challenge. There's one spot I keep returning to because I'm not sure if I like it. It's nagging on me and I may have to "fix" it before I can start quilting.

I'm hoping to finish my COF challenge today. The plan was yesterday, but I got sidetracked with baking. I made a commitment to bake up my super rich Double Chocolate Marbled Cheesecake squares. I always forget how time consuming they are. It took me ALL night, but they are so, so goooood.

I did find another peek for you though...

I spent about 6 hours quilting yesterday. Have 1-1/2 borders to go and have to do binding, but will make it now. My thumb is about to fall off, but other than that, I am pleased with mine so far...

A thought just crossed my mind, so I'll throw it out there. This year we were encouraged to name our quilts at the beginning of the challenge, and were given an extra bit of fabric for doing so. I've gone back and forth on if I liked the name of mine, but it's what I submitted so I'll work with it.

I'm thinking it might be fun for everybody to submit a name at the beginning, but then Jayardi would draw them out of a hat to see who works on which name. The drawback...if we choose our fabrics based on an idea we have in mind, would we be able to use those fabrics to our advantage when we find out the name we've been given.

Again, just a thought. Jayardi, I think you mentioned you like to come up with things to keep it interesting. Smile

That would be scary, elsie. If I don't get busy, mine won't look anything like the name that I picked out!

I should pull mine out and do some work while I have a few hours with everyone else in the house away.

Thank you for not adding extra rules Jayardi. I haven't liked the added confinement of naming the quilt early, which is just my opinion. I realize others may have found it fun.

I am 90% done... a little bit of quilting + stitching down the binding. I am teaching 80+ kids to sew @ work this week, so the last thing I want to do when I get home is to sew, so probably this weekend.

• • • Don't let her fool you. You KNOW she'll be playing right along with the rest of you, because she loves her BONUS SQUARES.

I've got a few more peeks to share. Will try to post daily until I leave for Branson. Sorry, you may have to go without on those days unless I can find a computer and a spare minute or two.

Ooh, I just had an idea. I could probably send a bunch (unnamed, of course) to Miss Lisa to post for me. Let me see if she'll be available. Until then, here you go.
