I'm still expecting another 33 entries as no one has officially dropped yet. (knock on wood) Wouldn't that be great to have

How about another peek?
Sep 07, 2012, 08:02 AM

Sep 07, 2012, 08:13 AM

Sep 07, 2012, 09:35 PM
warm bunsWhen is this due? I found the pig that came in the mail while I was chasing the spiders around in my sewing room this past week. Do I still have time?
Sep 07, 2012, 10:07 PM
Lisa - TXOur deadline is September 29th.

Good luck to all of us!
Sep 07, 2012, 11:50 PM
needlecrazyI'm not sure I can make the deadline this time; it's just too close to retreat. I'll keep trying, but I need sleep!

alexemmaroseOoh...what an interesting peek!
Sep 08, 2012, 11:32 AM
jayardi • • • Oh no, say it isn't so Carol. You'll have a at least five days after the retreat to work on it. Mine's been on the design wall staring at me while I finish my COF challenge. There's one spot I keep returning to because I'm not sure if I like it. It's nagging on me and I may have to "fix" it before I can start quilting.
I'm hoping to finish my COF challenge today. The plan was yesterday, but I got sidetracked with baking. I made a commitment to bake up my super rich Double Chocolate Marbled Cheesecake squares. I always forget how time consuming they are. It took me ALL night, but they are so, so goooood.
I did find another peek for you though...
Sep 08, 2012, 11:51 AM
GonesewinWhy do they all look like MY quilt???

jayardi • • • Only three more weeks to go. Is everyone going to make it? Haven't heard from 16 people since they signed up. Guess I'll have to send reminders out.
At least we have another peek.

Sep 09, 2012, 09:58 AM
Quilter JenI spent about 6 hours quilting yesterday. Have 1-1/2 borders to go and have to do binding, but will make it now. My thumb is about to fall off, but other than that, I am pleased with mine so far...
Sep 09, 2012, 10:39 AM
elsie123A thought just crossed my mind, so I'll throw it out there. This year we were encouraged to name our quilts at the beginning of the challenge, and were given an extra bit of fabric for doing so. I've gone back and forth on if I liked the name of mine, but it's what I submitted so I'll work with it.
I'm thinking it might be fun for everybody to submit a name at the beginning, but then Jayardi would draw them out of a hat to see who works on which name. The drawback...if we choose our fabrics based on an idea we have in mind, would we be able to use those fabrics to our advantage when we find out the name we've been given.
Again, just a thought. Jayardi, I think you mentioned you like to come up with things to keep it interesting.

Sep 09, 2012, 05:05 PM
Lisa - TXThat would be scary, elsie. If I don't get busy, mine won't look anything like the name that I picked out!
I should pull mine out and do some work while I have a few hours with everyone else in the house away.
Sep 09, 2012, 11:09 PM
jayardi • • • Number nine arrived today.
Elsie, I love new ideas and yours sounds interesting. Unfortunately, I don't want to add more pressures or additional rules to the challenge.
Sep 09, 2012, 11:19 PM
AliquiltI'm chugging along, with siggie blocks half completed that will give me a bit more time but I don't think I'll finish..time being sucked up with an unplanned move

Sep 10, 2012, 11:39 AM
jayardi • • • I know how that goes Ali, good luck. I sure hope you'll be able to finish in time.
Entry number TEN just arrived.

Sep 10, 2012, 12:28 PM
CQwannabeWorking on the binding maybe I'll be lucky #13!!!
Sep 11, 2012, 10:29 AM
SeeingStarsThank you for not adding extra rules Jayardi. I haven't liked the added confinement of naming the quilt early, which is just my opinion. I realize others may have found it fun.

shequiltsWorking on the binding and then I'll take my pictures. I should have them to you no later then the first of the week.

Sew, sew, and sew some more that's my motto!
Sep 12, 2012, 08:22 AM
ElainetooLike that black combo - what she do with the other colors??
Sep 12, 2012, 08:42 AM
KC1930My top is complete, binding made and backing sewn. Just need to sandwich and quilt!
Sep 12, 2012, 08:50 AM
Lisa - TXTen so far. I am making slow progress, but need to kick it into high gear!
Sep 12, 2012, 09:48 AM
KC1930Detective Lisa, are you taking notes on the sneak peeks?
Sep 12, 2012, 10:13 AM
CharmingsisterI'm making good progress and should be finished by the deadline.

Sep 12, 2012, 03:08 PM
ktzKeep on keepin' on, y'all!
Sep 13, 2012, 12:23 AM
SeeingStarsThe best part of the upcoming deadline is that we get to enjoy the show soon!
I finished a customer quilt, so I can go back to working on my top. It's getting closer. Not ready quite yet for quilting. Yippee!!!
Sep 13, 2012, 08:28 AM
CQwannabeFinished! Jean, I'll send my photo later today or tomorrow. Checking with my photographer, AKA: DH to see when he can take the photo.
Sep 13, 2012, 10:19 AM
Lisa - TXI haven't taken any notes yet

. Not sure if I am going to play in the quiltmaker contest this year. Guess that I should, just to see how I can do.
Sep 13, 2012, 12:32 PM
Quilter JenI am 90% done... a little bit of quilting + stitching down the binding. I am teaching 80+ kids to sew @ work this week, so the last thing I want to do when I get home is to sew, so probably this weekend.
Sep 13, 2012, 02:59 PM
jayardi • • • Don't let her fool you. You KNOW she'll be playing right along with the rest of you, because she loves her
BONUS SQUARES.
I've got a few more peeks to share. Will try to post daily until I leave for Branson. Sorry, you may have to go without on those days unless I can find a computer and a spare minute or two.
Ooh, I just had an idea. I could probably send a bunch (unnamed, of course) to Miss Lisa to post for me. Let me see if she'll be available. Until then, here you go.
Sep 14, 2012, 12:42 PM
Gonesewinmine is now 3/4 quilted...I should have it done by tomorrow and then I'll bind it when I get back from Branson...I've never cut it this close before and I don't think I like it!
