• • • May, I have had similar problems too. Frown

Isn't this heat awful? Last week we were over 100º too. Not use to that around here. Yuck

How about another peek?

Interesting! That blue block.

Well I got my top together this morning but, it's not big enough? I'm hoping once the boarder goes on I'll have the right size. And then that is another dilemma I'm having. I'll be picking my own brain tonight. Whatever I decide I'm sure I'll love it. I do have a few ideas in mind already. Wish me luck girls.

Very pretty blue block.

I hope the heat is breaking for all of you. We are getting blessed rain, and it's been in the 80's in Houston in July! We think we've gone to heaven.

Hopefully when it is cooler than 106+, I will get back to quilting mine. Haven't decided what color binding to cut yet either. The batting I use keeps bearding on my clothes (weird since I have used the brand of batting before), so I have to watch what I wear when I quilt! The other day my black shorts looked white when I was done stitching.

Jean! I was reading over the direction again. Sorry for being a pain but, sometimes it takes me a minute. Anyway I read that you gave us newbies extra sets. I don't think I started with them. We're they included in my 13 originals? Help! I'm trying to finish my boarder and 7 more sets would really help.

Some progress made over the last couple days. Too hot to be outdoors doing anything, so with a fan and the TV on, spent a little time in the sewing room.

Can't spend too much time, as the back doesn't like my sitting or standing position..

My top is almost done. There will be no sewing this week. 4 of my 9 grand kids will be here and 2 of them sleep in my sewing room. Believe me there will be no room for me in there. LOL

Another peek (a little inspiration) would be real nice.

Did work on this a little yesterday, and hopefully today. Will be great when I can say "top half done"... like some of you.

I finished two baby quilts today--proud parents of twins just left work place with them...sooo it's time to get going on this project!! (and the retreat siggy project). Peeks are very interesting...couple fabrics I didn't recognize and I had to go back through the package to see them in person Smile

Quilted about a 4" square last night... the football (soccer!) game last night was actually decent, so spent more time watching the TV then stitching. Interesting how a soccer game from 2008 was more exiting then the 2012 games I have been recording!

Well if Idea 1 Doesn't work, start on Idea 2 ..

Was feeling good until I got quite a bit done, then wasn't pleased with the outcome. Luckily don't have to go all the way back to the drawing board.

• • • Must be too hot for everyone. I made a little progress. And, I DO mean little. I need to switch to another project for a bit, but I thought I could get this one small section done first. Oh no, it took me three days to finally get it to look right, and that required a lot of unsewing. Yuck

contrary to rumors, I have not fallen off the world. Thanks to our fearless leader, Jayardi, I found my fabrics that I sent (I knew where my squishie was). I took to work and sorted. Then life and laziness kicked in. But today, I sewed, cut apart, cut w/ rotatory; pressed; sewed; cut apart and then cut w/ rotatory. Cut 2nd set; sewed, cut apart and sewed. These don't need to be pressed yet. Cut 3rd set. My neck and back hurt and I've missed Olympics men's gymnastics. Not sure if I'm happy to have made progress or bummed that I missed all those buff bodies.

Neat peeks. Love the 'Mr Egg'.. how clever. No sewing here - just returned from 10 days of camping and riding. Going to try to get some sewing done in between all the work that has to be done around here - and more importantly catching whatever Olympic events I can.

My D*** Jane top is done! It can go on the frame next week as soon as I get a couple of other little projects done. Yay!

Well I'm back on track now ya all. I am on a roll now. I finished the top to a sampler for my guild. I'm hoping to get it in our show in October. My wedding quilt from my bee friends and our challenge.

Almost ready to send in my last peek there Jean. I'm so gitty to have participated in this challenge and to have something beautiful to show for my efforts. My quilting may not be like a longarm quilter might do but, I love it.

This has really been a productive week for quilting for me.

Talk to you later.

Neat peeks!

I had some good time in the sewing room this past week. But also created some 'rip it' items. Hope to get back to sewing again next week when I return from visiting the grands and sons.

Boy the summer is going fast and way too much to do around the yard and house, plus getting in some camping.
