When I won the "race" at the workshop making the 1600 quilt I won 5 fat quarters. So I wondered what a quilt would look like using fat quarters. I used brown squares and still cut the strips 2 1/2" wide x the 22" fat quarter length. Mine is 32"x 48".

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

I really like that quilt. I love the squares in it. I think it looks better than the regular 1600 quilts.

Did you cut up your fat quarters before you started?

Love it Wave Wave

Sew many Quilts sew little time!
I Love to see the smiles that our quilts give every time we give one away. When we give a quilt to another it's also our love inside each one.

Will Quilt for chocolate, These were a set already cut into fat quarters. Unfortunately the blue fat quarter wasn't cut even so I couldn't get a full length out of one of the strips. But I used that as my beginning strip seeing you cut off about 1/2 of the beginning strip anyway.

Self, aka patty j, glad I gave you some ideas what to use fat quarters for.

quilts4myluv, thanks Wave Wink

I like how it turned out. I'll have to find the instructions for one of these - good project for DGD when she comes next as well. The FQ version would be much easier for her to wrestle with Smile

***The squares make it even more interesting, and may make attaching the strips even easier, even tho it's extra individual pieces. I could sure try this. Thanks.***

OH Man that is super! it looks like a watermelon ...great way to use up those FQ's .especially with the stopper bloxks. I did mine with diagonal seams joing the strips, like that better than butted but those blocks just make it more exciting! I Gotta do it!
