I know I could google this but why not ask the experts........My iron has some brown gunk on the bottom of my non stick iron it is most likely starch.

I've had some cleaner that comes in a tube that works great. You squirt it on a towel and iron over it with a hot iron. I'm pretty sure I got it at Wal-Mart but don't remember which department. Until you have a chance to look for that, try ironing over a dryer sheet.

Mary Lou, I was going to suggest the same thing! It's Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner and I got it at Walmart, too. Probably in the section with the irons and such. I've used it and it works fine. (You may need a magnifying glass to read the directions on the tube, though! Who do they think can read print that small?!?!?!?)

A little bit of Soft Scrub with water and a soft cloth works well too.

I use a dryer sheet. Heat you iron and slide your iron over it. It removes all the fusible crap left on there. The sheet can usually be used more than once.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS BROWN STUFF IS IT LOOKS LIKE OLD STARCH I WILL RUN TO WALMART TOMORROW.
