I got a flyer today advertising a new book at Clotilde...."Bed Runners and more'. Looking through the pictures I noticed something on this runner we don't often see on our quilts.
Do you see it? What do you think?
Ooooh Fringe!!! Pretty.
Why not? It matches the shams.
"Never be afraid to try anything new. Remember, amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic." Unknown.
The shams are the '... and More' in the book so you get to match them all.
Neat looking, huh?
I thought fringe and beaded fringe was on its way out. I made my dd some beaded fringe pillows about ten years ago. I do love the idea of bed runners. I've bought two books featuring them thinking I'd like a whole cloth quilt to use with them. Look the perfect size for the back of a couch too. Changes the look of tge room quickly and would be fun for holiday runners like Milligan & Smith do. TFS
"...thought fringe and beaded fringe was on its way out."
well, you know that saying!!!! "one minute you're in, the next you're out!" Heidi Klum
"It's bad to supress laughter. It goes back down and spreads to your hips."
Around my house, fringe and beaded fringe are only out if I throw them out!! Never have been one to follow the latest fashion, be it clothing or household.
Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.
My dog, Mya, loves to chew on anything that hangs or wiggles. She eats tags, stuffed toys with ears are short-lived in our house, I couldn't have any fringe anywhere, but I do like the look.
I'm in the same boat as Patty...but with a crazy cat who DIVES under things like that and rearranges any rug with fringe. He can un-make a bed faster than I can make one, tunnel through stacks of folded laundry before I can stop him, and plow through throw pillows until they're all thrown off. Wears me out! He'd have an absolute field day with that bed runner and fringe, pretty as it is! He'd be up all night playing. LOL!
i have fringe/beads on my living room curtains..they are not heavy drapes, but curtains.
If you like fringe - then fringe it!
I'm with FFG. Had a discussion last week with another courthouse employee when I had on my white sandals. She commented that I wouldn't be able to wear them next week.
Exccuuuuse me? After Labor Day, I call it "winter" white. Any day that the temperature is well above 90, I still consider that summer and will wear my white shoes (and clothes) if I want to.
Does this hat make my butt look big?
You tell them Sherry, I think she was pretty nervy to even mention it. I've seen men in sandals and shorts in Jan. here in Wisconsin. Now those guys are Stupid, there was deep snow and temps in the teens.
I like it.
