Jayardi's quilt at AQS Lancaster Sign In/Join

I went to the show in Lancaster yesterday and was thrilled to see Jayardi's Masque there. It's beautiful. All of my friends and I were very impressed at her skill and creativity. I can only dream of being able to make a quilt that beautiful. If anyone is going to that show in the next few days be sure you don't miss it.
I also met Alex Anderson. That was a real thrill too. She was very nice, but she looked tired. I think that it would be very tiresome to sit all day and talk to strangers and have your picture taken with most of them, but she pulls it off as if everyone is her friend. I forgot my camera! Wouldn't you know it. That bus just left too early in the morning!

Jayardi must be working...here's a thread link that had the Masque discussed.

It was SUPER to see in person @ COF Branson, but apparently I didn't get a photo of Masque w/Jayardi cause I've been through all the photos & it's not there. Frown

Thanks wildcatmon and Auntie Reba for the links to jayardi's quilt. I was going to look for it, but you beat me to it! It's pretty in the photo, but gorgeous in person. She is very talented.

Actually I think Jayardi made some changes (reworked the beading)to The Masque after the pictures in the links were added. Bet she'll show us an updated one when she gets here. Smile

● ● ● I never turn down a chance to show off my stuff. Wink Teddylady sent me an e-mail and the subject line made me think it was from AQS. My heart started racing thinking I might have won something. It may not have won the judges over (yet), but I do appreciate all your compliments. Thank You!

Bozie is right. I changed the beading of the rings on the horns.

Ahhhh, yes, I remember seeing that while it was in work.

Congrats on making it to the show, jayardi. And will keep good thoughts that the judges are enthused with it, also.

So impressive. How proud you must be. I am proud of you. You deserve to be there. What category is it in?

I was there today and saw it but didn't get a picture of it. I told my SIL, who I was with, that I think it was here last year because I remembered it and saw it before. She thought I was crazy and she didn't remember it at all. Now I know where I saw it and why I remembered it. I thought it looked darker in person than it does in the picture on here. Way to go, Jayardi!! By the way, the show was awesome and I'm very tired now.

I like the details in it - the 3 bars sticking out, those lovely dots lined up by size, the wavy stripes and the little bumps on the outer edge... and I'm sure the beads are amazing too. It's wonderful to share your work with others through a show.

I think it would make a good cover for Quilter's Newsletter!

Oops! I didn't mean to make your heart race, Jayardi. I was just excited to tell you that I had seen your beautiful quilt. But IMHO AQS should have been notifying you that you had won a prize!

I was fortunate to get to Lancaster this year. I saw the mask and thought that it was jayardi's mask that had been posted on here. I did get a photo. Congratulations on beiing in the show, jayardi. I was very impessed with it. Very creative.

● ● ● Thank you all so very much. I too wish it would have had a ribbon on it. At least it has won a few locally. I had showed it to a friend and she wants one just like it. I still have the pattern pieces I made, but not sure when I'll ever get around to making it. Too many NEW ones to get out of my head.

Rondi, the categories are very generic. It was wall quilts - home machine quilted.

Jayardi, sorry to hear you did not receive a ribbon for your Mask. It was beautiful and showed plenty of talent. It was a winner in my eyes. Sue
