PR fans...2-nite's the nite! :)
"Road to the Runway" airs an hour before the first "real" episode of the new season, so check your local listings. That's 2 new episodes tonight, one before the other.

Also, I think I saw that they are re-running the All-Star finale before the two new prime-time shows. So turn on, tune in, and catch up if needed before watching the designers learn that they are going to be competing in -gulp- teams all season! Eek

At least Tim will be back. Cool C. Siriano is a guest judge tonight.

Can't wait!! I am looking forward to Tim the most. The other gal is okay but Tim and Heidi are the best.

The "Finale Part 2" they are showing is from last fall, not from last week! Eek TV Guide didn't say that, or else I didn't catch it. Frown

Been watching Road to Runway. So far, so good. Personally i don't like team challenges and a whole season of it is going to be a bummer, i think. I like for designers to design and make their own clothes and be judged on their merit.

Susan

ETA: Going to be an intersting first challenge. Kind of reminds me of another design show that Isaac Mazhari (sp) hosted a few years back. Just hope there is not a lot of back-biting and crying. I appreciate humor and civility much much more.

The team challenge was different than I expected it to be-they could still do their own thing. I picked the winner and the loser was obvious. I thought the winning team's construction was so much better. I had several losers in the losing team.

It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Smile

LOVED the winning dress! That was a New York knockout! The top 3 picked were my favorites too. So interesting what Christian S said about a fluid simple dress often being more difficult to achieve than a structured suit. More useful comments this time than opinions it seems.

The first dress Heidi came out in was beautiful...and WHAT was the next one?!? Tim's back!!!!! Love him!

It was fun seeing totally new people. Can't wait to see more from Patricia.

I really liked Patricia's designs and want to see more from her. Is Michael Kors gone? I was happy to see Tim.

That poor 24 year old, who was so confident in the beginning then really flopped. She was almost crying and had her head bent down before her outfit hit the runway. Maybe with a few more years under her belt she could do it. I thought they were going to send Cindy home, which would be awful since she actually completed an outfit. And Cindy tried to help her.

interesting show and the right person got sent home, she had good ideas but needed time management in order to get the design finished. When I saw Heidi's dress I wondered how she sat down on it, looked uncomfortable. I can see "team" effort getting hairey as the season progresses

I don't know why they would want a whole series of team competition unless they just want the drama. After all, in real life designing, they should survive on their own merits, shouldn't they?

If one team keeps on losing and their team gets smaller and smaller, do you think they will realign the teams to even up the numbers?

I was wondering of the team would change or stay the same? And what if one team kept getting smaller?

I fell asleep and missed most of the preview show and the actual show. Did see the contestant that was sent home. Missed most of the outfits. Hope I can catch up on it sometime.

Slept so much during the evening, couldn't sleep all night.

It was nice to have minimum drama and cat fighting! I'm sure it won't last however. Poor Heidi - that outfit at the Runway show was awful... it missed sexy by miles.

I really liked the dress made by the woman in the top 3. And agreed with who went home, I had to rewind to see if she was the one who declared herself the winner in the intro... oh, yes! Pride before a fall and all.

I also wonder if the teams are set for the season? So far so good! I like Michael Kors replacement.

Finally viewed the programs last night. Right person went home. Hated Heidi's Runway outfit. Didn't like the winner's design. The team theme worked differently then I thought it would - don't normally like the 'team' competitions like in the home designer challenges - too much drama.

I'm waiting to see some of the 'quilting' features that a few of them used in their demo designs. Don't know if they really have time to do anything like that during the competition.

I enjoyed the show. Wasn't sure about the team idea, but it seems like they will get to do their own thing and the team members will advise each other. Interesing twist will be that the very best design will not win unless the team wins.

I think the team idea is meant to get them to help each other with good advice, because helping your team helps yourself.

Thurs. night. Seems a million years ago. I've had the noro virus since then. BUT I did watch! I enjoyed both shows..the pre-quel and the 1st challenge. Lots of talent..the bottom three were pretty ho-hum. I wonder how long the man who made the color-blocked skirt and off-white blouse is going to last? Nothing new there. LOVE the variety of styles and backgrounds of the designers. They (producers) did well in their choices this year and those top two gentlemen-WOW can they design. The lady with the two toned flaps on the dress, did well too and I would certainly wear that. Smile Looking forward to next week's.

I had the scene all set Thursday night: Dinner would be cooked, eaten, praised, and over by the start of the new shows. DH would be cleaning up the kitchen & starting the dishwasher while I was on the sofa with a blankie, a warm cat or two, and the remote. Two & a half hours of uninterrupted PR bliss!

What really happened:

DH calls (while dinner's in the home stretch of cooking) & says there's a crisis at work & he'll be home a little late. OK, I'll hold dinner. "Little late" turns into about 2 hours late. Obviously couldn't hold dinner that long. Ate alone (with cats circling), then tried to clean up while Road to Runway was on. Back turned to TV. Could only hear it -- didn't see much of it. Trash out, cat boxes scooped, dishwasher started, laundry out of the dryer, laundry in washer into the dryer, and I catch the last 5 minutes of that show. Roll Eyes

"Real" show starts. DH gets home. Distraction with info about crisis. Shhhh -- Mommy's watching her story. Phone rings. Elderly widow neighbor...must take call. She wants a weather report for Friday and somehow morphs into telling me several stories about her beloved husband. One of my ears is trying to listen to PR & the other to her. I gotta go! Talk to you later. Meanwhile, I've missed what the teams were doing. Is this a collection or individual works? We're cutting & sewing. Not too much back stabbing yet. Runway time. What do I hear? Aaack aack -- one of my cats is Ralphing his kibble. Get off the carpet! Go to the bathroom! Rescue carpet but not the bathroom throw (up) rug. Clean up that mess. Calm upset kitty. Throw rug in washer. Back to PR. We're judging. What did I miss?! Shoot. Should have taped this. Oh -- there's a black outfit & another black outfit. And something with paint smears that's amazingly cool. And something that looks wadded-up like my cat slept on it. That one should lose. It does. Oh -- was she the one who said she was going to win? Did they do it once more -- loser shown extensively at the beginning of the show? Thanks again, tape editor. Roll Eyes

So I have no comments because I didn't really see the show!!! Razz Big Grin

StarrySky - love the play-by-play! I think I watch too many reality shows because I just knew the 24 year old was going to be a flop. The whole time they interviewed her, she said she was a star and was going to win. Seems like that is always the person who screws up! Saw Tim on Rachael Ray and he said this season - with the teams - was his favorite! We'll see!
