anyone having problems with posting pic? I tried to post a pic 3 times and keep receiving message "waiting for Hgtv to respond" ???

Ever since they fooled around with the board this past summer I am unable to post pictures... I can resize them to almost thumbnail size and I still get a message "to big for hgtv ....." I hope this time around the reason you can't post a picture is because they are going to finally fix the problem caused last summer!

I have been able to post pictures without any problem. I post them from my desktop, so i don't know if that helps or not? chris

I haven't had any problems with pictures, either. Emoticons are another discussion.

Usually when there is a problem with sizing pictures to fit it is because of the file extension being used to save the pic. Many programs automatically save the photos as a bitmap (.bmp). You can scroll the save file menu under your photo and save it as another form of bitmap, .jpg. Makes a world of difference. Doesn't require near the adjustments .bmp does and loads faster. Took me a while to catch on to that one.

You might give it a try.

Is it possible that you are using a new camera to take the photos you are wanting to post? The newer cameras(larger megapixel) take photos that are much, MUCH larger files than the older cameras. They will still take a smaller photo, but the default setting is likely much larger and you will have to change it if you wish to take photos for primarily for posting online.
If you are using Paint to resize your photos using a certain% resize, be sure to check what size the photo files are before first. You may have to adjust the photo resolution (pixels per inch (dpi)) in addition...or you can change the formula % you are using. It's not hard, it's just different than what you were doing before. In Paint, you need to check the "properties" of any photo to see what its resolution is...
A 640 x 480 pixel photo @ 300dpi will be much different than a 640x480 pixel photo @ 96dpi. The higher resolution photos make great printed photos, but cause issues when posting online. The other extreme of a high resolution photo is a low resolution photo that's still under the HGTV requirement of 150kb...a photo that's really huge here, but you have to scroll side to side to see it all. Don't we all love those.
...and as paus said, do be sure to save your photo as a jpg...

Lately I've been using the resizer that came with Windows7. When I want to upload an image to the boards after clicking on "Add Attachment" I browse to the folder that has the picture I want, right click on the file and select "Resize Pictures" That lets me choose the size I want and then automatically resizes the image and saves it in the same folder with the original. I Have been using the small option for posting here.

Bozie, that's what I've been doing, too, and it works like a charm -- easy.
