I received the most wonderful surprise today from my SSBG, whoever she may be. She sent me a beautiful handmade St. Pat's postcard. Thank you so much! Your timing is great. I had my 5th injection in my knee this morning and I also have a horrible head cold. When I came home from the surgeon I just collapsed in my Lazy Boy and slept until 1:30. When I went for the mail your postcard was here and really cheered me up. Unfortunatley I have to wait until November to find out who you are, that's a long time from now.

Thank you, thank you again.

Julie

Today my wait was over and I quickly got ready for my day so I could take the time to open it before I left for my church sewing group. It was sure worth the wait! Thank you Nickilee for the wonderful box full of gifts. I got
2 quilt magazines
A pattern for a table runner
2 yards of batik fabric
Beautiful fall fabric
A hand painted birdhouse
A pin cushion made in a lovely flowerpot.
2 marking pens
A lovely tin
A pack of beach buttons
And a beautiful handmade card
I love everything! Thank you again, Jackie

Quiltslots... Happy Birthday to you Big Grin Looks like you got lots of goodies but guess what? They weren't from me. Did your Secret Sister put a card in with your gifts? If not hopefully she will come on board and let you know who she was...if you don't hear from her by the end of the week I'll let you know who she is.

WOWWWOOOOwwweeeeeeeeee!

What a wonderful birthday box, it is so OMGoodness fun. My SSBG is califshrimp Wave - Karen, and how lucky I am! I have a Ricky Tims tote!!! Can't wait to use it, A holder for my rotary cutters what a smart idea!!!

A perfect note book that i will be writing in tonight, it has my "love of coffee" it names all kinds cappuccino, fe au lait, macchiato ... it's very cool makes me want some coffee!!

I have a cute storage box with CQ stuff for my stash and Karen you really picked stuff that intrigues me. As I am looking at my beautiful gift inside I am see so many ideas!! There is fantastic fabric, cq lace some already colored (and they are very beautiful) and some I get to color - so EXCITED!!! One of the fabrics in the box is an amazing blue sequins and purple glitter backing, it's got me so involved into what to do with it, I think I am going to carry it around for awhile.. last in the case is the neatest idea. It's a "Quick 'n easy color block quilt" by June Tailor. it comes with the pattern, and ruler - more ideas - flying around my head with things to do with this.

And the best for last is one the most desired CQ books ever ... Crazy Quilting the complete guide by J. Marsha Michler How can a box get any better ... it can't!

Thank you so much Karen, a lot of thought went into this box, you are amazing!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rae

FOrgot the beads, Karen sent me a box of beads, they are transperant yet in colors (see thru in 8 colors, how cool to compact it for travel and bringing into another room. Ladies if you need a cq bead gift idea this is perfect!

Gotta question, I know we have a dollar amount to spend. How do we figure things you make from your stash. I have several items I'm making for my SS, all from stash. Some fabric was given to me and some I bought a while ago. I really don't know the cost of the fabric. Would appreciate some opinions on how to figure the cost.

I think the amount was no more than 25.00. I wonder how to price the things I made as well as some things from my stash. No clue what price to put on them.

Hi ladies....

A couple of things...

Has anyone heard from Chris915? I understand she has been in the hospital and pray that she is doing well. Her SSBG has yet to hear from her as to whether or not she recieved her gifts.

Also... to address the gift amount:

quote:
Your gift(s) should be valued at $25. PLEASE adhere to the guideline of $25 no more, no less to make it fair for all concerned.

From the looks and sounds of it some of you have gone way over that amount. PLEASE, in all fariness, adhere to the rules. If you are sending more then please indicate that the extra is a personal gift and not part of the SSBG package. I want this to be fair to everyone involved.

As for putting a price on an item you make. The way I would figure it is "how much would you pay for it if you had to buy it?" For instance, if you were to make a gorgeous pillow and spent a couple hours working on it with your fabrics, how much would you have had to pay for it? Think about the time, fabric, pillow form... I'd guess to say at least $25 if not more.
