So..Im starting to eat dinner and I hear my name being called from the closet where I put my gift last week. I have been ignoring it all week but today I was finally able to open it without getting into trouble !!!

Baseballmama..you had me fooled !!! I couldnt think of who lived at that return address...I think you had a little help !!!

ok...I have taken pictures and shrunk them as small as I can yet HGTV says they are still too big...so I will have to do my best to describe my gift until I can figure out the picture thing !!

No birthday is complete without a little bit of chocolate .....I love the new skinny cows candy that they have and I cant wait to tear into a package tonight after dinner...thanks Patti for helping me stay on my healthy eating plan !!!

Now on to the things that will stick around a little longer than the chocolate!!!!

First there is a great quilt pattern, BQ#3 by Maple Island Quilts. I love their patterns and they whip up so fast....I already have the first two and didnt even know there was a # 3!!

Motion Commotion is another pattern I found in that noisy little box...hey !! Maybe this is what was making all the noise. This is a really cool pattern that may be used for a certain challenge on the board (dont tell Jayardi)..you sew straight seams yet they look curved !!!!And they use 5" squares !!!

the third pattern was a Quilt as you Go Square play runner...this looks neat and I have yet to do a quilt as you go so maybe this will help me to get over that fear !!!

Nope...Im not done yet...cuz I didnt tell you about the beautiful fabric yet...if you need to take a potty break before reading some more, I can wait.

Sorry..the break was for me really !! Anyway, there were 5, yes, 5 beautiful Asian fabrics..which of course just happen to be my favorite !!! I think the one with the parasols is my favorite !!

Then there were some more beautiful fabrics in Christmasssy colors .....rich golds, beautiful greens and reds...just gorgeous...

I hope I can attach a picture to show you all how generous Patti was. Everything is perfect and I love it all.

Thank you Patti for such a wonderful birthday box full of things that are "me" !!!! I love it all and cant wait to get started on one of theses new patterns!!!

Glad you like everything Elaine. I knew if I put my return address with Louisville, Ky on it you would know it was from me, so I used my sons address just across the river in New Albany, Indiana. I figure I had alot better chance of stumping you till the very end with that address. lol

Happy Birthday to you too Quiltingnewbie!

I have had a good day-worked in my sewing room today and ran a few errands and had dinner with the family-DH, DS, DD, DSIL, DB, and the lovely grandbabies. Lots of yummy food and a free dessert for the birthday girl!

THANKS!

My box came today. I have been spoiled by Mountain Laurel, Carolyn. THANKS so much. Pictures will come later this evening.

There are four beautiful wooden coasters made with quilt block patters. My husband does woodworking and was very impressed. My son liked them a lot too.

Also four beautiful pieces of fabric-one Laurel Burch print, two wonderful black, orange, yellow and red mums-they are absolutely wonderful. Also a piece of bring stars on black ground-the stars appears to be pieced like a quilt.

Also a cute mug with cupcakes and a cupcake recipe holder. A ruler organizer-I need that-my rulers are scattered everywhere. Also a stack of notepads that will be useful. There was also a reusable tote bag from Joann's-prety with birds on it -I have been collecting all types of tote bags and really like this size.

Thanks again so much. Sorry to hear about your foot. Thanks again!

Pictures will be posted later.

THANKS!
Karen

I got a box on Friday, but since my DS uses my eBay ID, most boxes to me are really for him. So I left it for him to open (he was expecting some car parts). He took it to his shop and opened it - then he called and told me it was for me. When I said it was for my birthday, he left it at the shop and said I couldn't have it till tomorrow! What kind of payback is this for carrying him for 7 months and spending all that time in labor? Ungrateful child!

McP - let's see...you carried him '7' months. I'd say him keeping your birthday box is payback for your cheating him out of 2 months of his cozy abode inside. Yep, my big ole 7 lb twins came 2 weeks early and they've been giving me heck for 27 and 1/2 years !! Well, except now that I have the precious lil redhead from the one child, I can get over it a tiny bit!

Yes, you MUST wait until tomorrow!

Finally got to see the inside of my box! My SSBG was QuiltingNewbie2! Thanks so much Elaine - it was if I was right next to you while you were shopping for me! First off, two wonderful books on scrap quilts - and I have found at least one pattern to do in each. Next, there is a quilt kit in a sack - its a Christmas wall hanging with all fabric, backing and binding included. Then there are five beautiful fat quarters - two of stars (which I love) and three in purple and cream that all blend beautifully. There's a small candle in Orange Dreamcicle (love the real ice cream things) that smells delightful, birthday plates and napkins and finally, A PANTOGRAPH for my quilting frame!!!!!! Its of clouds and since I have about 6 quilt tops backed up to be quilted, I know it will be put to good use. Thanks again Elaine, it's everything I could want!

Well It has been a long day, but I promised I would not go to bed until I did my Thank you to Special friend (ib1ru12) Gwyn Hines. Thank you so very much for my great and wonderful package. I loved the card(did you make it?) I hope some day to be able to do cards just as great. I am still in the learning stage. Well my package contained. Some things for card making a stensil lettering book,(didn't have one) has guite a few good ideas . can't wait to have more time to read in more detail. 36 colored pencil set, 3 different paper punches, 5 packes of stickers, 8 christmas ruber stamps. LOOK OUT !!! ideas are a popping. Now for the quilting items. 4 different shades of veleteen material,(just love them) and three different quilt patterns. and the best for last (you said I would love it) WELL I DO!!! Used it twice today. a cup to put in micro wave with a special top to hold either coffee of tea to brew, Never saw any thing like that cup before, but when I shop( for myself) I usually do Thrift stores and yard sales. Sorry I can't post pictures. No Camera. I keep asking Santa for one. I have tried to be extra good this year ( so far) Maybe he will get tired of me asking and get me one. Thank you again Gwyn. I see your birthday is coming up and I hope your package is just as wonderful as mine was.

AppleBetty - sounds like you got quite the fabulous package - I know you will enjoy everything.

Ladies, AS you all know we recently lost one of our Board members who had signed up for the SSBG - Chris915. With Chris's passing we needed someone to fill in that would be able to send to her SSBG when the time came. I am happy to announce that one of our newest board members, Fleur55, will be joining us. I have done a little shuffling around so that everyone will be taken care of come Birthday time. Fleur55's birthday is October 6 and we welcome and thank her for jumping in to play with us.

Please remember to send me your confirmaiton once you mail your packages. Thank you everyone for making this a wonderful swap!

Now that I have gotten the picture to finally work Jackie I love the time and effort you used to give me a wondeful birthday.

The notions - pins, brush, bobin holder- I wil use it for my quilt frame machine- the topstitching thread and invisible threads will all be used with great appreciation. The frame will soon have a picture of my grandson and sit by my sewing machine which will be sitting on the panel with the useful pockets. The whirly gig can hang in my window and give me fun colors to sew by. The socks will keep my feet warm and adorable. The tote will be going to school with me to help carry my projects back and forth.

Again thank you so much for your wonderful gifts that I sooo look forward to using in my next year with great pleasure.

WOW I hit a major sale and 3 craft sales I only spent 12.60 and got great stuff for my BGSS, I spent 23.14 on me and DGD, we had a great time going through the big store, all craft items were 75% off. I can't show pictures because my BGSS would know what she is getting and who I have. so I have to wait for her to get her package and then I can post the picture I took.
