Wow! You guys are really whipping this block out! I won't get to it for a while. Got a few other irons in the fire right now. Working on a late wedding gift and getting ready for a visit from the inlaws! I'll keep watching though! Smile

Wow! Everyone's blocks are looking good!
Another hint: to get your Color placement right mark your papers with the color in each section. Helps keep me organized.

Wow, so many pretty blocks, I love all the colors...and I also love the fact that the BOM pushes us out of our comfort zone, and really it is good to challenge ourselves...Smile

I agree with Patricia Anne, I wrote my colors on all the papers, and had all my fabric pieces cut and stacked for each section...be sure to have a nice pair of scissors to trim, and have your iron handy, it'll be quick as lightning if your well organized when you sit down to sew...I'm not set up good, so had lotsa exercise trotting back and fourth...lol...but hey it was better than going to the gym...hehe

I can't imagine putting it together without the papers Patricia Anne (kudos to you), they were a tremendous help for me, as all those bias cuts wanted to stretch when sewing...I found the papers prevented it pretty well. The key to me for proper alignment was keeping a watchful eye on lining up the seams in the middle versus lining up the tops and bottom, and making sure I sorta kept the points in the middle fanning the right way, and outta my stitching path, I did press my seams open similar to Sandie and fanned out my points in the center to get it to lay flat Razz

Everyone's blocks a beautiful! so fun to see all of the different looks. Here is my February block.

PP is not my favorite thing to do, so instead if dreading it, I decided to hit it early, and cross my fingers that it came out right. The dark is a navy blue and the yellow is brighter.

I'm hopping mad right now. My block is done, but.... it looks like a "C" cup in the middle. I decided that I'd better not keep seam ripping because bad things always happen to me when I do something when upset. Did this happen to anyone else?? I know Sister Sues' went together like a dream because I was with her when she made it. But not mine. Oh well, I'll let it rest a bit and try again later.
All of the blocks shown look lovely and all so different. Great job everyone.

More beautiful blocks!
Handie Ann love both of yours and that Christmas one caught my eye with the star being so prominent.
sister sue, love your greens! Very nice!

Oh patty, I feel your pain (mad)! I finished mine. WQFC will post the picture later.
I did press my seams open and before adding another section I took off a tiny bit of the paper at that pointy end plus took the paper off the seams before pressing open. And I 'nipped' just a bit of the fabric point off of the sections sewn and it seemed to press/lay flatter. I am not an expert on PP but this did work for me.
Take deep breaths and let it rest awhile! You can do it!

Patty - so sorry to hear the frustration in your post. I hope you have better luck with it the next time. I haven't started mine and I'm wondering if I should 'substitute' a block! Is that allowed?!!

Here is Malou's block. I have to admit that I thought about claiming it as my own!

I haven't been on here in a few days and look what happened, I WON!!! Congratulations to Elainetoo!!! Two winners. Yeah!!! Crazy, I'll send you my address.

I have my fabrics picked out for this month's block, just haven't had time to start on the block. Maybe this weekend. I really want to wait until I have plenty of time to work on it with no distractions. PPing is not one of my strong suits.

WQFC, Don't worry, I'm sure my troubles stem from "Operator Malfunction" and Not the pattern. I was doing very well while it was bein ppd, but the sewing together turned ugly.I'll just look at it a little closer today and figure out what went wrong and Fix it. Pat
