I've started a quilt for DGD and would like a few more pieces of white on black. I don't have time or opportunity to run all over to quilt shops so wondered if some of you might want to do some swapping. What I want is white on black of something that a 7 year old would like. I have paw prints (her first choice), musical notes, flowers, and stars. All I need of each is 2 strips 2 1/2" x WOF. I'll trade you an equal amount of anything I have - just let me know what you like and I'll see if I have it.

I'm not asking anyone to go shopping any place except your stash! If you have something you are interested in swapping and can send it out right away, that would be great.

I know you said white on black but just in case you could use black on white I have some of this fabric I'd be happy to share. The picture is a scan of a 2.5" square to give an idea of the size of the print.

Bozie, that is a really cute fabric. But I'm using a white/pink dots for the background and don't think there would be enough contrast.

May Baby, Clarissa loves cats so that would be great. What would you like in return? Would you prefer it in 2 strips or in one wider strip? I'll PM you with my mailing address. Thanks a bunch.

Jayardi, why am I not surprised that you have dots? I have some but they are tiny dots so some medium size ones would be good. I also have a piece with stars but will post a pic of it and if yours is different, I'd love that too. And the dice would also work but I don't think I'd want playing cards. I'll see if I have any dots for you - or what else would you be interested in?

You are all so generous!

Here's a pic of the block I'm making. Will need 32 of them but I plan to do more than one from each fabric. Those dots are hot pink, not purple like they look here.

jayardi, this is the star fabric I have. Is yours different?

royalbloomer, I appreciate you checking out your stash for me. One of the many things I love about this board is how everyone is so helpful.

I should have said that I have quite a variety of BOW and WOB that I've collected with a log cabin quilt in mind - lots of florals, swirls, scrolls, etc. But for this particular quilt, I'm hoping for more kid-type prints.

and the last two

I thought the either the dragon flies or the small paw prints had the biggest potential but included the others just 'cause Smile I have more but they were clearly not "children" and some the print was just so large by the time I cut them down to 2 1/2" strips they would lose their identity.

If nothing works that's ok as well....it was fun just going through the stacks and revisiting fabrics I hadn't looked at for quite a while Smile I really should use some of them.

royalbloomer, thank you so much for taking the time to show me what you have. Yes, the dragonflies and the paw prints are exactly the type I am wanting - but I already have one and jayardi is sharing the other! I also have two of the other fabrics. Thanks again.

patty j, thanks for checking. If you want to add some WOB to your stash that's fine, but don't do it just to share with me. It looks like I'm going to have plenty.

thanks, jayardi, I'll be watching for it. I made several blocks today with part of what I have on hand so by the time your package gets here, I'll be ready to start on those. I also have plans to visit a LQS or two on Saturday to see if I find anything unique.

RockinRobbin, I'm sure I could finish the quilt with what I have and what others are sharing with me. But if you have something different and really great for girls, I'd love it! If you don't mind checking your stash and letting me know what you have, I'll happily send you something in return.

jayardi, your package came today - and I already have used two of the pieces you sent. I love all of them and think they will look great in Clarissa's quilt. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Found some white on black cat type prints. I did not have WOF but think there is enough after seeing your blocks so I am sending it on. I also found another print that may fit the bill and have sent a WOF piece of it. If this does not work, keep for your stash or pass on.

No need to repay.

Karen, I got your package. I told Clarissa that someone was going to give me something with cats and she loves the idea! She went shopping with me yesterday and we also found butterflies, bubbles, and crowns (she thinks she's a princess so that is perfect).

Thanks a lot for sharing.
