Quilt pro quo is turning weight loss into quilts! Those of us who want to keep motivated to eat less, eat healthier and feel trimmer and better are weighing in once a week and making blocks or other "quilty rewards" when we achieve our goals. If you already have your own goals and pace feel free to share those or just post your quilt blocks.

Otherwise, pick your day and time to weigh once a week. If you want to post your weight here for motivation and to keep you on track feel free to do so. If not, write it in a journal, PM a friend, whatever works for you.

If you aren't doing 1 block, 1 pound then write down your bonuses, your inches for blocks rules, your double wins, your dollar jar and anything else you are putting in place.

I'll post a new thread each Tuesday, share your losses and your gains, and your block pics with us each week. This board seems very supportive so when 'life happens' share it and get back in the swing of things the next day.

This will continue to June 1st 2009, so plenty of time to join in, and make a quilt for yourself.

I'm sticking to the Paleo/Mediterranean food list that my Doc provided for me. My friends from Ohio convinced me to go eat out with them on Sunday night, although I am not supposed to eat at restaurants or have any processed food for that matter. I felt it was the least I could do after they drove 9 hours each way to come to our rock band video game party. That was my only slip, so I still have 4 smileys.

Cool Cool Cool Cool

I finished up my xmas blocks for CBQ's swap, so nothing new in the Quilt pro quo block set. How does life get so busy?

I seem to have changed my weigh-in day from Monday to Tuesday. I like the Tuesday numbers better. Smile

Anyway, I've stayed the same from Tuesday to Tuesday. And again I think it's the lack of walking/exercise that is holding me back from losing more. I HAVE TO do my tapes/DVDs before I look at the computer in the mornings. If I wait until I get home, I'm too tired to do anything. So I am holding at 7 pounds.

Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

And I had quarterly labwork done last week - cholesterol and sugars are down. Good news.

Thats great Kay-lin! I am so happy for you Smile
Finding the time to fit exercise in is really important, for bones as well. Not that I have taken my own advice lately, lol.

I was worried about getting on the scale this morning - my Thursday weigh-in day. But, I was greated with another drop. One more pound gone from the original 6 I lost. Hey, gotta find the joy in the little things right?! Wink

Congratz Kentucky!! Smile That's a great start to quilt pro quo. You are welcome to post pictures of your 'quilting goodies' if you want to share. Sometimes it's hard to fit work, quilting, family, eating right AND exercise into the week but sounds like your plan is all-inclusive. Big Grin

Its encouraging to read your results here. I'm hoping for a strong showing next week - I'm loving this weather for getting out and moving.
Jane, I'm thinking there are decent choices available when eating at a restaraunt - something that isn't so processed, like a fresh salad maybe? I have done a pretty good job of sticking to home-cooked meals since last weekend's vow. Not perfect-just better! Now, on to the weekend.

I can't believe I gained two pounds. I guess I haven't been watching my servings properly. I know I cheated a bit with that trip to McD's after a good report from my dr. LOL Big Grin

I promise to do better for next week's weigh-in. I don't want to look like this....

Hey better is GREAT if it's long term... I always found trying to be 100% good just makes me completely bad lol. I'll probably get a salad when we go out next Saturday with a friend who missed our party. (The party I might add where I ate homemade veggie soup and didn't even get tempted to touch the bread I made and the pizza we bought Wink I just object to paying $9-12 for a few bits of lettuce and some tomato and egg or cheese Razz
In a way its actually a bonus, the money I don't spend on eating at au bon pain 3 days a week pays for a weeks worth of organic fruit and half our veggies too!
Been so focused on all this that I even got some inspiration for an organic quilt *laugh*

Shey - congratz on two more. Hope you will show us the pics when you get more time.

Quiltbea - I was waiting to see how you got on with Doc. Glad he/she is happy with your results of late Smile

I don't worry about a gain one week Quiltbea, when it carries over to the second week then I worry. Last week I was up 2 lbs and this week I relost that plus 0.8 lbs. High fives everyone. Now I really have to get back into my high aerobic exercising so I'm making a promise right here that I will start my Turbo Jam again tomorrow.

So glad to see everyone still hanging in there! I'm stuck in the same place, but since I'm not really trying I figure that's good.

Lisa Smile
