waving at some of my fabric! It looks like you sewed the smaller pieces together with the sashing, then the block together, then all the blocks?? OOOooo, that's a lot os little sashing....but Oh So Much Easier than applique. Whew...

Sorry, but no. Each one of those seams is pressed open, so the top would not travel well. It will stay put at least until it's all quilted. Now, if you wanted to come visit to see it in person...you'd be welcome.

I like your quilt. I too was hoping you were bringing it to Branson. I would love to see it up close. I wouldn't think the seams being pressed open would make any difference. I'm bringing a top that is not quilted. The seams are pressed to one side, but as far as staying together, I don't think the pressing would make much difference. Please do at least tell us where you found the pattern. I may want to add this to my bucket list.

Very impressive! Is that the Turning Twenty pattern?
I also have been fiddling around with the bricks and 2 1/2" squares from a previous swap and working on Bonnie's Quiltville "Bricks and Stepping Stones" pattern. The bricks are in brights and the stones are in black and white prints. This is my second quilt in this pattern as SO easy to do. Here is a picture of my piles ready to lay out and sew together!

Hey, KC I'm sewing my black and whites into 4 patches too. I made one like that before...it was a LOT of fun sewing the bricks to the squares. So easy!!!!
I just saw a cover of a new book that has the 4 patch in the corner of the block and 3/4 of the rest of the block is a print. Let's see if I can find a picture....

It looks just like the Bricks and Stepping Stone pattern with a solid section attached to it. Since a brick is 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" and after adding the four patch, you would need to make the second part of the block 9 1/4" x 3 1/2". OK, let me try to address some of your lovely comments. It is definitely NOT "turning twenty". I saw it on the cover of a magazine, and decided to make it, without looking at the sizes of the pieces. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrgh
I'd be happy to let you know which magazine ... when I get back home. Flew into Branson today and just getting settled in.
The reason it's not traveling anywhere until it's quilted is ... then I'd have to re-press all those seams big time. YUCK.

KC, I like what you've got organized, too. I'm sure it will be lovely. And, yes, a big thanks for hosting this swap. I had this pattern in mind when I signed up, and I still have some bricks and noodles left, but I don't think I'll be making another one like this.

Sadly, no. But I know right where the magazine is, and when I get back home I'll post here what info I have.
I remember it is on the cover, and at the end of the directions,they show a variation in fall colors with dark sashing, and it's amazing how different it looks.

I guess I'll have to wait until after the retreat. I was going to try to google it and see what magazine it was on if you remembered the name. But it's not like I'm going to be doing anything with it for awhile. I just wanted to be on the watch for the magazine. I know, patience is a virtue. I don't have much patience when I see a quilt I like and would like to make. See you at the retreat.
