I finished 5 yo-yo throws. I'm wanting to back them with flannel. I'll be putting a binding around the flannel backing. my question is do I tie all the yo-yo's to the backing. and hand stitch all the outer yo-yo's to the backing by hand. hope I explained this that it makes since. would appreciate any and all help.

I'm no expert...I've only made a tiny doll quilt with them before I knew how they were supposed to be made! I sewed each of the edges(all 4)to each other and then all of the centers to the backing using buttons to cover up the hole I hadn't turned under. I would be sure and do that to secure it...even this this little doll quilt is really loosey goosey without being tacked to the backing somehow. I would think for sure that the centers of each yo-yo need to be attached to the backing for a big quilt. Brave girl to make a whole quilt of them!!! I croaked after the doll quilt size...

thanks nancyc20 for your help. I'm using flannel for the backing. but first I'm going to put abinding on the backing. I'm using jelly rolls for the binding. then I'll tie the yo-yo's to the backing. I was thinking of using crochet thread to tie them to the backing. and use a few stitches to all the outer yo-yo's. each throw has 432 yo-yo's. I'm making them for all the women in my family. after I get these 5 done I'll still have 12 more to do.

I love making yo-yo's. I use the yo-yo maker by Clover. last year I made my first yo-yo quilt. I didn't put a back on that one. it was for my king size bed. it took 2016 yo-yo's. that's when I decided to make the women in my family one. but decided on making them all throws with a backing.
