I picked up one of these babies at Target this week:

http://www.amazon.com/Energize...-Light/dp/B00081K4CK

It can clip on my machine's bed extension (my machine isn't inset in a cabinet). The neck is totally bendy, putting the light wherever I need it. The clip isn't so grippy that it will break something. Says the light lasts 10 hours. Takes 2 of those little #2032 button batteries to refill. Sorry it got one star from some of those reviews, but I don't plan to have it on long enough for reading, just for a minute or two if I need extra light while sewing a tight place. Sometimes I need a little extra to see my pencil mark or whatever.

Target had it on sale this week for $5 & change, in the flashlight aisle of the camping stuff. Mine's white.
