I decided to make some quilted scarfs for Christmas gifts this year & finished the first one today. If I'm not mistaken I think Mandylifeboats taught us how to make these. DD & I found this cool beaded fringe to put on them & it if PERFECT for the batiks that I used. I'm so happy with how it looks!

Those little beads pick up all the colors in the batiks.

That really is perfect!! I'd forgotten about that scarf - where did you find that fringe? DGD would like that I think.

I got the fringe at Jo-Ann's but didn't find it in the regular fringe/ribbon area. I found it in the drapery section. I'm just hoping they wash o.k.

Love your scarf! How did you hold the beaded fringe in place while sewing the scarf?

wannaqlt, the beaded fringe is on a little strip of green tape & I just sewed it in when I sewed on the back flannel (wrong side out) & then when I turned it right side out, there it was.

Nik: do you have a pattern for the scarf or do you know where I could get one? That is the prettiest scarf I have ever seen.

Catwmn27, if you go to one of Jayardi's posts & look down at the bottom of her thread you will see some links. Click on the PJ Party link & look for a tutorial on Quilted Scarf. It will give you the total instructions on how to make one.

alexemmarose, the beginning width is 7" but the final width is about 5 3/4" wide. The first one I made ended up being about 5 1/2" wide after I washed it.

I was packing away my batiks from the CYOC swap and saw your scarf. Hoofed it to JA today and they didn't have that trim, but I got one with a clear crystal and citron beads. It was $14.99/yd and I got 14" with a 40% coupon (was $3.50 after the discounts).

KC, I saw that fringe at my Jo-Ann's & thought about it until DD & I happened over into the drapery department & found the ones I got. Yours will look very pretty on your scarf.

Thanks for all the many, many compliments on my scarf. I have at least 4 more to make (5 if I make one for myself). They will all be from the same batiks but probably a little different placements on each one.

These are really easy to make & are warm in the winter time.
