Just finished a baby quilt for my best friend from high school's son. They are having a girl and decorating with pinks and grays. We don't live close to each other and making this for her son makes me feels so good inside! So glad to hear you have a new mini for us to enjoy, Bozie! Can't wait! Susan

Thanks for the compliments. I SID on most of the quilt, then SID around the white stars. Then I FMQ suns/daisies? in the white area. Susan

Holly, congrats on the new baby in the family.
Took a vacation day and went to a quilt show today. Another one planned for tomorrow, but this one is local so not such a journey as the one today.
Been working on another deer panel quilt... Chris

● ● ● I started working on the backing for the t-shirt quilt. Was digging through all my B&W odds and ends and found a bunch of old blocks. They were left over from a stack the deck technique I was trying, long, long time ago. So I put them on the wall and started slicing and dicing again. Needed to stretch them from nine to twelve blocks. Didn't think to take before photos. Once this part is done, they'll still need to be enlarged. I'm hoping to have them done this weekend.

Here is another UFO I finished sewing the binding onto last night. I had it quilted by my LAQ last month and I'm calling it Shabby Roses. There are more pics on my blog.
Asimplelife, love your rose quilt and will look beautiful on someones bed. Great job. Sue

Sister Sue, I agree... Asimplelife - that beauty would lokk gret on my bed!
Haven't chekced in here in a while and miss seeing everyones pretties - lots a greta looking quilts here so far.
I finally put the binding on my COF 2010 Retreat RR quilt and mailed it out to my firend for her Open House. SHe lost her house and all her belongings in the Bastrop Fires last year so I wanted to help her get started in furnishing her new home. I'll try and post a picture later.

I always look forward to this particular thread- great finishes everyone! Love seeing the pics!
A friend of mine & I are doing a block of the month class at one of our local quilt shops. We got together this week & had those blocks finished in nothing flat. We were having so much fun that we also put together the buck-a-blocks for January as well. Between the two of us, we had enough fabric left over from the kits to make a negative block. We both loved how the negative block looked, so we're each going to do a positive/negative block quilt. I'm also contemplating doing both blocks again in a different color palate- guess the block bug has really gotten to me! *grin*

WAHOO!!! YIPEE!!! HORRAY!!! Yes, I'm yelling!! I completed the 2012 BOM today. I love this quilt! It is so big I had some friends stand on chairs and hold it sideways to get the whole thing in the picture. Now someday (hopefully soon) I'll get to the quilting.
SusanTN, what no picture?? We'd love to see what you and your friend made. Patty Absolutely gorgeous. I love that quilt, are you keeping it for yourself??
Nice to keep one for yourself. Usually quilts leave us to keep others happy. lovely work, amiko

Patty, that's an awesome quilt! I love your color choices and the border really makes it pop. I just started a BOM and now I want to change it to B&W with a bit of color. Thank you for the inspiration! Evelyn

Sew Happy - I have to admit that when everyone posted their completed blocks each month for the BOM, I thought there was no way they would look good all together - just too busy. I was so wrong!!! Your quilt is beautiful! Susan

I've been working on a tree skirt for my son's family, using a design by EvelynB. I'm really pleased with it. I didn't have enough of the background for the border, so I used a contrast. Hope to send to the LAQ soon.
Califgal recently had a posting showing doll clothes for an 18" doll, and that reminded me that I wanted to make some clothes for a new doll my GD got last month. I don't have a doll here, so I really hope they fit when I take them to her, hopefully today.
Elsie, what pattern did you use for the doll clothes? I've been making some for my DGD's 18" doll and plsn on msking more. Have lots of patterns but have a hard time imagining which fabrics would look good. Love your fabric choices.
I hope to post photos of my finishes but need to clean off my camera first.

Quiltnana2, its Simplicity 2458. The picture on the pattern shows this outfit in black with a green print, but my GD really likes pink...and Wally World didn't have a comparable green print. I do plan on making a pair of pants in the pink like the shirt, and she can interchange some.
Now that I have more of an idea of the small size of the pieces, I'll go through my stash to see what will work.
Chris, that quilt of QWL looks great. Elsie, you did a great job on the tree skirt and it sure is one of a kind. Love it. Nice job on the doll clothes. Good color combination. Everyone's projects are just wonderful. Sue

Finally! I finished a new mini (9" x 11") for AAQI. Called this on "Lilac Time" and had happy thoughts of the lilacs that bloom in early summer as I was working on it.

I FINALLY made a quilt for my honey, Steve ... he's been so patient while I make quilts for everyone else and now it was his turn. He picked out the fabric, a layer cake & jelly roll from MO Star, and the pattern is from the Moda bakeshop website ... He LOVES it, and it fits him

Today I am sewing the binding on my farmer's wife quilt that 8 quilting friends including myself made 8 of the same block and exchanged them every month. It will always be a treasure. I will take a pic when I finish.
Our lives are like quilts - bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.

I spent my weekend embroidering burp cloths. I gave a friend ten of them Friday and needed to replenish my supply. I made two of each these designs and have ten more to embroider. It's funny how babies keep coming. Make them and they shall come!

Finally stopped in to see the projects. Really nice everyone.
Got a few months of blocks done for SunShine Quilters for the year. Got the straight-stitch quilting and binding hand-finished on a small lapquilt for the Vets Home and a small one for the NICU finished (both shown on stashbusters), binding on the QoV ready to hand-finish, sorted and put together the Jan blocks received from SunShine Quilters and started making the blocks needed to finish it for QoV. Been a good sewing week.
Oh, edited, guess I didn't post the little NICU quilt.. can't see it, but I did do hearts in the borders and just outlined the characters. I never know what to do with panels - this was a simple way. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Elainetoo,

Love all the great projects on this thread. Kim perfect for your crochet hooks, I can never find the size I need when I look, they are scattered around.
BOZIE OMG!! I love that mini! It is by far my favorite of all your minis. Of course being purple helps.
I love all the projects which were shown. Handie, your friend will love your beautiful quilt and it will keep her warm during her Chemo runs. T's & P's to your friend. Sue
